At this internet cafe I just wrote a huge message to you about everything, and it was all good and everything, then there was an edit conflict, and this stupid computer DOESN'T LET YOU COPY AND PASTE - so my message could not be put into the new edit. I wrote so much, all for nothing. So, now I'll have to wait till my next chance to say what I wanted to say. And it was a lot of kind stuff.

Sgt Frog
Let's see, Japanese series, goofy-looking characters, colors and rank match up...there's only a 3% chance that's unintentional. Stop removing valid information. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:37, 17 October 2017 (EDT)
:Who cares if they look similar and you have this arbitrary hunch that it's a reference. There's nothing to confirm that Sgt. Frog is referenced at all beyond what you're imagining. Unless you have proof beyond speculation, I'll keep removing that trivia. Blue Ninjakoopa (talk) 01:39, 17 October 2017 (EDT)
::If it was just two characters, that'd be one thing. But there's three there is no way that's unintentional. Besides, given it's a very-famous Japanese manga and anime, it'd be like an American work giving a passing nod to Phineas & Ferb. The point is, it is a clear reference. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:42, 17 October 2017 (EDT)
:::Based on what? I could ramble to you about how Tubba Blubba and the entire second half of Chapter 3 in Paper Mario is a reference to Jack and the Giant Beanstalk but I can't validate it. If I did what you're doing, I'd write "Tubba Blubba is giant like the Giant from Jack and the Giant Beanstalk, and Yakkey is like the Golden Goose", which is something I can't substantiate with anything besides my imagination. Perhaps I'd be more convinced that those 3 Bowser minions are a direct reference to those Sgt. Frog characters if you showed me similarities between their personalities, but appearances alone won't cut it. Blue Ninjakoopa (talk) 01:53, 17 October 2017 (EDT)
::::How is that similar to Jack and the Beanstalk? Also, that's British, ergo is less likely a reference than a Japanese thing referencing another Japanese thing. Either way, the Elite Trio don't really have distinct personalities; being a group of minions loosely based off of characters from an anime series is really all they have going for them. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 02:09, 17 October 2017 (EDT)
:::::Like I implied, it's a stretch, but Jack and the Giant Beanstalk was about a boy who ventured into a giant's castle and stumbled on something valuable that would be of immense help to him. In that case it was the goose that laid golden eggs. In Paper Mario, it was Yakkey, who unlocked the door to the Windy Mill to allow Mario to fight Tubba Blubba's Heart, which eventually led to the freedom of several Gulch and Mansion Boos. The freedom of Boos parallels the riches Jack amassed when he cashed in the golden eggs (or perhaps Mario when he got the Star Spirit). Another parallel is between the giant and Tubba Blubba; both were bumbling and slept a lot, and both ominously talked about how they "smell" what they enjoyed eating. They also chased the protagonist (which makes Mario kind of parallel Jack). Again, stretch, but a connection can be made. The only problem is it's not backed by any official statements. I'll admit the Sgt. Frog reference holds more water, especially considering the likelihood that Japanese game developers watch Japanese animation, but you just admitted that their connection is loose, which is why I'm asking for more info. I guess since it's Trivia it's fine, but the Mario Wiki generally doesn't allow speculation (at least not in my experience) unless it's as clear cut as Mario Party Minigame names (Oil Crisis, Mario Speedwagons, and Track & Yield to name a few). Blue Ninjakoopa (talk) 02:26, 17 October 2017 (EDT)
::::::Imma throw out that only really obvious references should be mentioned in trivia sections; there are only so many stories to tell, and coincidences are bound to happen. And saying that it's likely that it's a reference because they're both Japanese is dumb, least of all because there are many, many, many Japanese works out there. 02:31, 17 October 2017 (EDT)

Wow - I wasn't expecting this to happen. I'm guessing you were blocked and it's just expired so you're coming back and righting your wrongs - which is a good idea. Well, I must say I am impressed with your effort at fixing up what happened due to that message, and so I thank you. And the links in some words of your message were funny, LOL. Hey, how ya doing? Just wanted to stop by and say hello. It's been a long day. 21:01, 28 October 2017 (EDT)

Did you just say that Bulbpedia is more successful than this Wiki!? That Wiki is full of errors of many kinds. Can you possibly explain and convince me that it's more successful. BTW, when I said you should leave this Wiki I didn't really mean it, but I thought you had but you were just blocked. I think you would be useful on both Wikis, as you like Pokemon Trivia so much. If I get time one day, I'll prepare the World's Hardest Pokemon Trivia for you - so start studying!
Kuchuka
I guess that sounded a bit contradictory with the forgiveness thing. I will forgive you now, as you have come back and...Undone the Darkenesse! </emo>
While it is true that we do not usually bring up spelling in articles, it is far from obvious that it is pronounced in such an ungrammatical way; most people would assume it rhymes with Bazuka. And of course, there's the fact that "Kachucker" isn't a word, so people wouldn't immediately get the pun; conversely, "Kuchooka" sounds vaguely like an artillery onomatopoeia, so there's even more reason for people to incorrectly assume that's the intended pronunciation. The Japanese name is the only one that even hints at the pun, simply because the English spelling is so counter-intuitive. See? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:42, 12 April 2018 (EDT)
So yeah, I have forgived you. Woot- I have friends - that's special. Yeah, the thing with Wikis is that anyone can see what anyone writes to each other - so we all have to be careful if we mention other Users.
:There's no way to know what "most people would assume" in a case like this, and we can't go around making arbitrary exceptions, especially not ones based on something as weak as "most people assume." Perhaps we could mention its pronunciation in the first sentence within parentheses, but we'd also need to decide which other character names have unclear pronunciations and mention them there as well. Blue Ninjakoopa (talk) 18:28, 14 April 2018 (EDT)
::Given that its pronunciation is outright ungrammatical relative to its spelling, that'd probably be for the best. The others seem to follow basic annunciation rules more concisely. Man, I'm sure I wrote a better message before that got deleted. So, if ever you have to wait several days for a reply from me (and this goes for all Users who talk to me), don't assume I don't like you - it's because I have very few chances to get on teh interwebs.
There's absolutely no question that in the localized versions of TTYD, the Syndicate is based off of the Mafia., though I hear that in the Japanese version, they're based off of the Yakuza. Anyways, they are certainly based off of varying real-life crime syndicates, with the accents in the localized versions being a dead ringer for stereotypical "Mafia"-type characters. Also of note is that one of them asks Mario if he would consider joining, which is interesting given Mario's own Italian heritage and the rules of the real-life Mafia regarding that. Anyways, I don't see a problem with noting the general idea. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:42, 16 June 2018 (EDT)

Oh, and I like what Garlic Man said just above this message - per him.

I'm not mad or anything. I'm glad I was able to solve your problems and keep this wiki under controle. I hope that I was able to fix the dispute and preserve what was left of you guy's friend ship.
Would you believe me if I told you that, despite knowing all the main memes from a rather young age, I didn't actually start watching them regularly until I got to college (and needed something to do when out of class, and no one would be bothered by the noise, and the internet was OK)? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:23, April 13, 2019 (EDT)
:Yeah, I'd believe that. College was where I discovered Fesh Pince (it was introduced to me by my suitemates, which was very unexpected but shows how diverse college can be). Do you have a favorite YouTube Poop, or a favorite creator? Blue Ninjakoopa (talk) 21:28, April 13, 2019 (EDT)
::My favorite YTP would probably be Crustacean Resurrection Redemption or the Mashed Bandicoot ones (made by NPCarllson), but my favorite YTP creator is probably Jimmy Davis. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:40, April 13, 2019 (EDT)
:::I haven't seen those but I'll check them out. I recommend Deepercutt (a good way to get started with him is to watch the tennis match between him and Captpan, another good creator), Kroboproductions (especially "King Dedede inhales a negative Ion", but he's best known for Fesh Pince), DaThings1, and CS188. My favorite YTP is "Ganon Thinks Your Face will Burn Him." Blue Ninjakoopa (talk) 21:46, April 13, 2019 (EDT)
::::Try "the Decayer App" from Jimmy Davis, the other ones I mentioned are fairly long. I've seen the Dedede inhales one (along with several permutations of it) as well....there's also an extremely vulgar nonsensical speech from K. Rool in "King K. Rool Files a Complaint at Super Disney Land 3" by Geibuchan I can quote off the top of my head (and in fact did while unlocking him in Smash) Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:49, April 13, 2019 (EDT)

Please observe these few guidelines when editing my talk page

 • When replying to a message, be it by me or another user, please respect threading guidelines and indent your messages appropriately with colons (:). Also, when replying, keep your response on the topic of what is being discussed, and do not include yourself into any other conversation you aren't a part of unless you find it necessary (stopping conflict, etc.).
 • Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your message.
 • Try to avoid removing text from this discussion page. Strikethrough (example) is preferred.
 • I usually reply on my talk page, unless I'm leaving the first message of a conversation. Check back here if you've begun discussing something with me.
 • For new [on] topic discussions, go to New Section (the + sign), type the title of your topic, and create your message, and then post it. Be sure to follow the latter guidelines as well (signing, et cetera).

Thank you.

Skins for the wiki itself. The only way I can see it being changed is if you create your own personal monobook. I'm not sure how to make one though, try asking Twentytwofiftyseven (talk) or Porplemontage (talk). --FREAK ~Game GameBros.png Freak~ OUT!

OK. BNK [E|T|C] 01:23, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Fourth wall

Yes, that's how you write fourth wall, but I think if there's like two words, we use capitals for the first letters (Fourth Wall). Like Special Moves - capital 'S' and 'M'. Please leave it as it is. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC

Sgt Frog

Let's see, Japanese series, goofy-looking characters, colors and rank match up...there's only a 3% chance that's unintentional. Stop removing valid information. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:37, 17 October 2017 (EDT)

Who cares if they look similar and you have this arbitrary hunch that it's a reference. There's nothing to confirm that Sgt. Frog is referenced at all beyond what you're imagining. Unless you have proof beyond speculation, I'll keep removing that trivia. Blue Ninjakoopa (talk) 01:39, 17 October 2017 (EDT)
If it was just two characters, that'd be one thing.
Based on what?
How is that similar to Jack and the Beanstalk? Also, that's British, ergo is less likely a reference than a Japanese thing referencing another Japanese thing. Either way, the Elite Trio don't really have distinct personalities; being a group of minions loosely based off of characters from an anime series is really all they have going for them. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 02:09, 17 October 2017 (EDT)
Like I implied, it's a stretch, but Jack and the Giant Beanstalk was about a boy who ventured into a giant's castle and stumbled on something valuable that would be of immense help to him.
Imma throw out that only really obvious references should be mentioned in trivia sections; there are only so many stories to tell, and coincidences are bound to happen. And saying that it's likely that it's a reference because they're both Japanese is dumb, least of all because there are many, many, many Japanese works out there. Idle Chatter

Hey, how ya doing? Just wanted to stop by and say hello. It's been a long day. Lcrossmk8 (talk) 21:01, 28 October 2017 (EDT)

Kuchuka

There's no way to know what "most people would assume" in a case like this, and we can't go around making arbitrary exceptions, especially not ones based on something as weak as "most people assume." Perhaps we could mention its pronunciation in the first sentence within parentheses, but we'd also need to decide which other character names have unclear pronunciations and mention them there as well. Blue Ninjakoopa (talk) 18:28, 14 April 2018 (EDT)
Given that its pronunciation is outright ungrammatical relative to its spelling, that'd probably be for the best. The others seem to follow basic annunciation rules more concisely. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:32, 14 April 2018 (EDT)

Rogueport

Re: How Long...

Yeah, I'd believe that.
My favorite YTP would probably be Crustacean Resurrection Redemption or the Mashed Bandicoot ones (made by NPCarllson), but my favorite YTP creator is probably Jimmy Davis. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:40, April 13, 2019 (EDT)
I haven't seen those but I'll check them out.
Try "the Decayer App" from Jimmy Davis, the other ones I mentioned are fairly long.

Hi, just letting you know the reason this edit didn't work is because you didn't change the name in the bestiary. It's fixed now. Niiue - Who has lost his tail? 00:15, April 20, 2020 (EDT)

Re: Hey...

Hey it's no problem. porple used automated bot script to replace file names wiki-wide, and I decided to go through the manual effort of replacing them seeing as you thanked him on his talk page :) Oh and btw, I noticed you've had some history with contributing niwa wikis -- i've noticed because i've contributed a lot to Wikirby and Lylat Wiki & cleared out some old stuff from both places to make them more user friendly, if you want to take a look. Results May Vary (talk) 16:11, April 26, 2020 (EDT)

Yep, I helped them out a bit and attempted to do a merger but unfortunately that fell through and I went back to their Wikia counterparts. I'll be sure to check those out, I've always loved their css, especially WiKirby's. :) Blue Ninjakoopa (talk) 16:20, April 26, 2020 (EDT)

Lylat Wiki

Hello. I'm going over our staff listing on Lylat Wiki, and I noticed you haven't made an edit there since 2011, which was around the time of the Wikia move, as it appears you were more active on Arwingpedia afterward. Are you planning on resuming activity, or are you fine with demotion? Asking here as I'm not sure you'd get a notification from Lylat Wiki. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 12:26, May 10, 2020 (EDT)
