Sparks are spiky ghosts that appear in the game Luigi's Mansion. A Spark resembles a red sphere with a pointy nose. They appear in groups of two, out of a door or wall. If Luigi touched one, it would explode and he would take ten HP of damage. Eventually the Sparks would explode anyway, and if Luigi was caught in the blast he would take the same amount of damage. If Luigi sucked one up into his vacuum, the ghost would explode inside the vacuum and Luigi would still take damage. Luigi could extinguish them by spraying them with Water Element. If Luigi sprayed them with Fire Element, the ghosts would explode on contact.

Sparks, also known as ghost bombs,[1] are red, explosive, spike ball ghosts with a tail and pointed nose. They appear in Luigi's Mansion and its remake, where Sparks are always encountered in groups of two, emerging from walls, doors, or even a picture. There are three groups of Sparks: Two of them are in the 2F Hallway, with the first group emerging from the mansion picture on the far left, outside of Nana's Room, while the second group emerge from a wall just before the staircase to the Safari Room. The last group of Sparks appear in the Basement Hallway, where they come out of a door leading to a short passage to the Secret Altar. In the PAL Hidden Mansion, Sparks appear more prominently throughout the hallways, including the 1F Hallways. Sparks explode either after a few seconds, from contact with him, or from being vacuumed into the Poltergust 3000. In all cases, Luigi loses ten HP in the process. Luigi can defeat Sparks only by spraying water or fire on them, although the latter makes them explode. Sparks are unaffected by ice. The Nintendo 3DS version requires that either fire or water be used on a Spark for it to appear in the small ghost portrait of the Gallery.
