After Luigi collected 20 Boos, he was able to pass out onto the Balcony. Once on the Balcony Luigi found a large ring of Boos out in the center. The plumber approached the center, and the Boos grouped around Luigi and circled him round and round and got larger and larger until they all formed into one enormous Boo, named Boolosus, which Luigi will have to fight. He  had to first break apart Boolosus, then suck up an Ice Elemental Ghost and fire Ice Elements at the single Boos flying around. This froze them and the amateur ghost-hunter was able to safely pack them away in the Poltergust 3000. After a while of this Luigi was finally out of peril. A large treasure chest appeared and Luigi found the blue diamond-shaped Key to Area 4 inside of it.

The Balcony is a room of Area Three in the mansion of Luigi's Mansion and its remake. It is a large open area on the third floor of the mansion with many plants that Luigi can water for treasure, the one in the far right corner giving a Red Diamond, and benches around the edges. There is a large winged unicorn statue on the left and right sides each. Boolossus is fought here, and the statues become frozen only during the battle, spawning Ice Elemental Ghosts. Many lanterns line the outside of the Balcony as well. Once Boolossus is defeated, a large treasure chest containing a blue diamond-shaped key to Area 4 inside appears.

If Luigi has captured less than 20 Boos, a particularly-transparent Boo, referring to itself as "the mysterious power of the Boos," will block him from opening the door leading to the Balcony and whisk him back to the Foyer. After Luigi captures at least 20 Boos, he can exit the mansion to the Balcony.

Ghosts[edit]

The following ghosts are encountered on the Balcony during the blackout in the following quantities:
