Autopatrolled users are former wiki staff members who are still considered trustworthy enough to have their edits automatically marked as patrolled. They also retain their access to the forum's wiki staff board and are encouraged to continue contributing to discussions if they so choose; while they are not formally counted in official votes (i.e. over promotions/demotions, etc.), their opinions are still appreciated and taken into account.
