The Giant Spider is a giant one-eyed spider mini-boss in the area Fungi Forest in Donkey Kong 64. The Giant Spider is fought by Tiny Kong. It attacks by sending smaller spiders toward Tiny and also by shooting webbing that either temporarily reverses the game's controls or freezes Tiny in place. Tiny can damages the Giant Spider by hitting it's eye with her feather bow when it opens it. After being hit multiple times the Giant Spider will fall to the ground, shrink into a normal spider enemy and try to charge into Tiny. A few simple hits will destroy the shrunken Giant Spider, after it is defeated a Golden Banana will appear before Tiny.

Giant Spider
The Giant Spider from Donkey Kong 64.
Model from Donkey Kong 64
Species Small Spider
First appearance Donkey Kong 64 (1999)

The Giant Spider[1] (alternatively known as the Spider)[2][3] is the larger counterpart of Small Spiders and a mini-boss in Donkey Kong 64. The Giant Spider has been described as both a male[4] and a female[3][5] spider. As a female, it is suggested to be the mother of the Small Spiders.[3][5] The Giant Spider is located in the mill of Fungi Forest, which can be accessed only by Tiny Kong during the nighttime. The battle starts when Tiny walks on a large spiderweb below the Giant Spider, who then wakes up and drops from its resting spot on the ceiling, dangling from a thin spiderweb string. It summons three Small Spiders to attack Tiny before returning to sleep. As Tiny is being chased by Small Spiders, the Giant Spider spits out one of two types of obstacles, red webbing or green phlegm, both of which trap her in ice and reverse the Control Stick directions, respectively. Since the Giant Spider is asleep, it cannot accurate spit at Tiny. The Giant Spider briefly wakes up after Tiny defeats the three Small Spiders, and it can be damaged from Tiny shooting at its eye from her Feather Bow. After a fifth hit, the Giant Spider spins around, falls off its string, crashes into the wall, and shrinks into a Small Spider, which can be defeated by Tiny easily. Following this, the Giant Spider falls on its back and disappears, then Tiny is awarded a Golden Banana.
