Yoshi's Island is where the Yoshies originate. It first appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island when Baby Mario fell down to the island after the Stork carrying the Mario brothers was attacked by Kamek Koopa.

In Yoshi's Story, Baby Bowser took over the island in an attempt to capture the Super Happy Tree. Bowser placed a spell over all the Yoshies, but six were unaffected, as they were unhatched and still in their eggs at the time the spell was cast. The six Yoshies must battle their way to Baby Bowser while eating fruit and regain their island and break the spell.

Yoshi's Island is also a level in both the Super Smash Bros. games.
