Template:Infobox Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash[1] is a sports game in the Mario Tennis series for the Wii U. It is the seventh installment in the series and will be the first Mario Tennis game to be released on a home console since Mario Power Tennis for the Nintendo GameCube (excluding New Play Control: Mario Power Tennis for the Wii).

Gameplay

The game plays similarly to previous entries of the Mario Tennis series. Chance shots, which made their debut in Mario Tennis Open, make a return in the game, with a new technique called the Jumpshot which sends the ball flying down the court. A new feature is the ability to use Mega Mushrooms to grow the characters to give them an advantage.

In two player singles, the Gamepad serves as a second screen, positioning for the first player as the TV is used in the second player's point of view.

It is confirmed that the game does not support motion controls.[2]
