Template:Character-infobox Very Gnawty is a giant Gnawty and the boss of the Kongo Jungle in the game Donkey Kong Country. His name is a pun on "very naughty". He is the first boss of the game, appearing in the level Very Gnawty's Lair. His behavior consists of hopping across the battle arena, damaging the Kongs upon touching them. The characters must attack Very Gnawty by jumping on him, causing the enemy to move faster. After five such hits, he gasps and collapses onto the ground, signifying defeat.

In the Game Boy Advance version, Very Gnawty is recolored brown and is larger than he was in the original game. When hit, he will jump to the other side of the arena before continuing his attack.

Trivia

  • Really Gnawty is a palette swap of Very Gnawty; while Very Gnawty has green fur, Really Gnawty has brown fur. These colors are swapped in the Game Boy Advance remake of the game, though like all Gnawties, Really Gnawty's fur became blue rather than green.
  • In the Game Boy Advance version, Very Gnawty can also be found inside DK's Tree House after defeating Really Gnawty. When he realizes Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong has entered the tree house, the beaver runs past them and out of the front door. This can be performed only once per file.
  • Gnawties equal in size to Very Gnawty appear in Donkey Kong 64, near Cranky's Lab in Jungle Japes. The only difference between Very Gnawty and these Gnawties is that the large Gnawties of Donkey Kong 64 can be defeated in just one hit, rather than five as in Donkey Kong Country.
