Template:Level Lava Lagoon is the eighth level of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, and the third area of Crocodile Cauldron.
This level takes place in the cargo hold of a crashed Kremling galleon. Although it is flooded with water, the heat from the surrounding volcanoes causes the water to be boiling hot. Fortunately, Clapper the Seal is around to cool down the water to a survivable temperature for the Kongs. The water won't keep cool forever, so the Kongs cannot waste any time while in the drink. The level is also populated by Neeks, Klampons, Floatsams, Lockjaws, Puftups, Kaboings and Click-Clacks.
Gameplay
From the start, the Kongs must travel east and jump across a small gap with lava in it. Not long after, they will meet Clapper, who will cool down the water so they can swim through it. The two Kongs must then swim across or go on a few crates where an enemy is to reach yet another Clapper. Once quickly moving through the water, the Kongs will have to jump over two small gaps and meet the third Clapper. Once he cools down the water, Diddy and Dixie can, like before, swim trough the water to reach their next destination. When they are out of the liquid, they will go into a barrel that will shoot them up to the next part of the level. From here, they must both travel west and jump on the fourth Clapper, cooling down the water. Underwater, the Kongs will have to avoid several enemies until back up in the surface, where they will find the Star Barrel.
Halfway through the level, Diddy and Dixie will continue to travel west and jump on the fifth Clapper. After jumping in the cooled-down water, the monkeys must avoid two enemies and quickly jump out of the water, which will quickly rise as they run to the sixth Clapper, who will, as usual, cool down the water. In the water, they will have to avoid many Lockjaws. Once out of the water, the Kongs will have to travel east and move across several crates until they meet the seventh Clapper, who will cool down to water again. In the liquid, the two monkys will avoid even more enemies and will then travel upwards and meet another Clapper, cooling down the water. After swimming north more, the Kongs will finally find the exit and finish the level.
Bonus Level(s)
After the Kongs pass the "No Enguarde" sign, there will be a barrel. The leading Kong must pick up the barrel and break the side of a nearby crate. Once they enter the side of it, they will be in the level's first bonus stage. Here, Diddy and Dixie will jump on an Enguarde and travel around many crates and barrels, while attacking several enemies. At the end, the monkeys will cross the "No Enguarde" sign and collect the Token.
DK Coin
The DK Coin is near the end of the level where the final Clapper is seen. After hitting him, the Kongs must travel trough some crates and quickly follow the path of bananas. The coin will be at the end of the path. Once gotten, the monkeys need to move west and escape the water before they are burnt.
