Bruce is very minor to ''Paper Mario'' and plays no exceptionally large role, though he does play a part in one of [[Koopa Koot's Favors]], which involves [[Mario]] having to keep him from exploding as to earn three [[Star Piece]]s from [[Koopa Koot]]. He also writes two [[Letter|love letter]]s to Bombette through the [[Post Office]].

It has also been confirmed that Bruce is a playable character in the Wii download version of the game. To unlock him, the player must have beaten the game four times and have been using an official Nintendo GameCube or Virtual Console controller the whole time. After this has been done, he will appear at the [[Bowser???]] room of Koopa Bros. Fortress and offer to give Mario a break. If you accept, he will replace Mario. Bruce's attacks are virtually the same as Mario's in functionality; a normal jump and a sped-up version of Bombette's bomb move to work as a hammer. The only difference is appearance and the way that he communicates this the rest of the party and NPCs. To get Mario back into your party you must return to his house and talk to him. With this, Bruce will return to the Koopa Bros. Fortress and allow you to play as him whenever you desire, just as he did before.
