Depending on whether or not Mario has defeated Mechawiggler, there will be one of two Checkpoint Flags active near New Donk City Hall. After Mechawiggler's defeat the flag is directly in front of the entrance and referred to as "New Donk City Hall Plaza". Pauline can be found near the flag. During Mechawiggler's attack, the flag called "Construction Access", and is on a small green mound a short distance to the east of its later location.
