Not to sound rude but, where would this template come in handy? - Mcoolister T, C, R

I worked on previous pages such as Mario Kart 64#Drivers, and Mario Kart Super Circuit#Drivers.
While editing, I noticed an oddity:
I cannot put "{{color-link|Princess Peach|Peach|blue}}" because it will not function properly.
The only way I can made this color-link work is having "{{color-link|Peach|blue}}".
The user is supposed to go "Princess Peach" (article), not "Peach" (redirect).
MarioWiki:Redirects states that "Linking to redirect pages is discouraged, so always try to link to the actual page name and use the piped-formatting to correct the name if necessary."
Is this one case where it cannot be fixed?
