Edits

Hi, welcome to the wiki! You seem to be having some trouble with your edits, so here's a few things to keep in mind.

  • This wiki is for official information, meaning fake and fan created information does not go in the main articles. There are some exceptions, though. However, if you can provide a source on if the level you are talking about actually exists in the game's coding, it would fit at List of Super Mario World pre-release and unused content.
  • When uploading images, please remember to fill out the aboutfile template (or remove it completely), categorizing the image correctly, and applying the appropriate license from the drop-down menu. You can find all the information you need about those here:

Hello, The Koopa King. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below.

{{aboutfile
|1=Subject of the image
|2=Where you found the image
|3=Artist
|4=Describe edits, if any
|5=Other versions (use file link)
}}

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello, The Koopa King. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

[[Category:Super Mario World images]]
or
[[Category:Super Mario World media files]]

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello, The Koopa King. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must apply the proper license. A full list of licenses can be found in the file copyright tags category, but the following are the most common:

  • {{photo}} - Used for photographs of real-life subjects.
  • {{art}} - Used for artwork of something that is not a character.
  • {{comic-scene}} - Used for scans of a comic.
  • {{comic-cover}} - Used for covers of comic books.
  • {{tv-screenshot}} - Used for screenshots of television shows.
  • {{film-screenshot}} - Used for screenshots of movies.
  • {{video-screenshot}} - Used for other screenshots, such as those from YouTube.

When uploading, select the license from the drop-down box below the summary text box, or add the license manually after uploading or if you're using the upload function from the text editor. For example, artwork of Mario would use {{character-artwork}}.

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Don't include multiple copyright templates; choose the one that you feel best fits the file. If you continue uploading files without applying the correct license, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Thank you, and keep contributing. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 11:36, February 7, 2020 (EST)

Additionally, we do not accept fan-made recreations of pre-release material. Your uploads have revolved entirely around these, but they do not fall within our guidelines. Please do not continue uploading them unless you can properly source them from official material, and please following the image instructions above. Sorry. I just didn’t know. Only decent images I could find.
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Katelyn Croteau (talk).

That's fine, you know now :) Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 19:49, February 12, 2020 (EST)

Please don't upload files without filling in the file details. {{aboutfile}} should be filled in properly (otherwise you can simply replace it with a simple description); {{uncategorized}} must be replaced with an image category relevant to the file; and a license should be selected from the "Licensing" drop-down menu. See the above reminders. K.K. Slider costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 19:54, February 12, 2020 (EST)

I wish that Nintendo would create a Paper Mario game for the Switch. With Dark Bowser as a boss! I haven’t seen him science I last played Mario & Luigi Bowser’s Inside Story!

Dark Bowser's giant form, in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.

I wrote since, not science!

Oh, and Nintendo should also add the Koopalings in the next Super Mario Maker 2 update. I have always wanted them! Also, it would be nice if Dry Bowser was there too!

Do not upload files that already exist. Check to see if they are already uploaded first. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 20:10, February 12, 2020 (EST)

Smart Apostrophes

Additionally, both when writing and uploading files, make sure you use straight apostrophes and not smart apostrophes. Thanks! Trig - 20:38, February 12, 2020 (EST)

What’s a straight apostrophe? What’s a smart apostrophe? I only have 1 type of apostrophe on my keyboard.

Regular apostrophes are ', smart apostrophes are . The latter is what you use. You might be able to change this in your computer settings somewhere? Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 22:59, February 12, 2020 (EST)
If you compare the type of apostrophe in your sentence to the one in my phrase: "It's not 'that' bad, sir," you may notice that yours appears to be more visually curved or angled differently. Alternatively, view the following: ’ vs '. There are several methods to resolve this, the first being entering computer keyboard settings and finding any potential smart quotes option and turning it off. The other is to copy and paste it in when using them on a mainspace page or (more importantly) a file name. If you want more information about their differences, click this link and it will take you to my user page for more information about what they are. Trig - 23:03, February 12, 2020 (EST)

There is only one problem about that. I am not using a computer, I am actually using an iPad. I actually do not have a computer, except for a very slow, old one that cannot even turn on. I cannot change the type of the apostrophe... wait a sec. I will go look.

For apple products, go to Settings > General > Keyboards and then turn the 'Smart Punctuation' off. Trig - 09:54, February 13, 2020 (EST)

Stuff Not About Smart Apostrophes

So I was wondering why I cannot make a user page, because I have been on user pages of other people. It says that I don not have permission to create the page. I really want a user page.

Userpages can be made by members that are Autoconfirmed. You must make ten edits and wait a period of seven days. Trig - 09:54, February 13, 2020 (EST)
