Template:Minigame-infobox Merry Poppings is a Duel minigame found in Mario Party 5. Its name is a pun on the name of the fictional character Mary Poppins.

Introduction

The players are floating in the sky with balloons, ready to shoot blowguns to try to pop each other's balloons.

Gameplay

The two dueling characters are suspended in the sky by the strings of 30 balloons. Each player is given a blowgun; by pressing A Button and B Button simultaneously, the characters can shoot their blowguns as fast as they can to pop each other's balloons. The first player to pop all 30 of their adversary's balloons wins. If five minutes pass before either player is eliminated, the minigame ends in a draw.

Ending

This is what happens to the loser in Merry Poppings.

Wario and Waluigi finish the minigame in a draw.

When the losing player runs out of balloons, they emit their "blown away" cry while falling. A "poof" is then heard when the losing player falls through the clouds. The winning player waves while saying their victory quote. However, if five minutes pass, all balloons of both players will detach.

Controls

  • A Button + B Button (Simultaneously) – Shoot blowgun

In-game text

  • Rules"Pop all of your opponent's balloons with a blowgun before he or she pops all of yours."
