I generally agree with the proposal, as I'm all for specificity and consistency (especially since most other animal-related categories are tailored after some taxon), but I'm on the fence because of Belly Belch. As even you described it, it is too much of an amalgamation to be pigeonholed into an exact biological group, I feel. The characters that are indisputably based on annelids can be put in an Annelids category, sure, but Belly Belch would perhaps be a better fit for a nebulous supercategory like "Invertebrates". "Worm" is a generic phrase that refers to many, many unrelated biological taxons due to being either long and tube-shaped or parasitic. These include annelids (segmented worms), nematodes (roundworms), flatworms, rotifers (a microscopic thing), various insect larvae (such as inchworms, which are caterpillars), caecilians and snakes (which are vertebrates), and ringworm (which is a fungus).... among many, many, many others.
Now, this category here has two types of "worm" accounted for: annelids (such as earthworms and leeches) and various caterpillars (which now have a more biologically appropriate category) that have been generically called "worms" at various points. What this proposal intends to do is to nix the caterpillar ones to avoid category redundancy, and to rename it to "category:annelids" to make this new scope clearer.
The following will stay in the category:
- Belly Blech - parasitic worm; though the way characters act about it makes it seem more like a flatworm, it has visible segments
- Chuck Quizmo - seems to be an earthworm, though it's admittedly vague
- Snoodle - tube worm things
- Sworm - probably an earthworm, though it can also be a leech
- Wormwould - earthwormy as an earthworm can be
The following are caterpillars and will be removed:
- Creepy - hangs out on plants, the rest of the enemies in the game are insects, clearly a larva.
- Ick Worm - hangs out on a leaf, name is a pun on "inchworm" (a group of caterpillars).
- Worm - Far more resembles a caterpillar than an annelid, especially with the bright green color (even though both 'pillars and earthworms are sometimes used for the apple gag, caterpillars are more common). Same goes for Worm (Super Mario Galaxy) which is even more clearly a caterpillar, but it's already not here.

- Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) - WhateVermis it takes.
- Blinker (talk) - Didn't know the English word had such a broad range of meaning. Per proposal.
- SolemnStormcloud (talk) This is the first time I'm hearing the term "annelid". Who would've guessed the Super Mario Wiki would be educational beyond the Mario franchise? Per proposal.
- Camwoodstock (talk) We're all in favor of making these taxonomy articles better and less jank. Caterpillars in particular really ought to not be here--we've seen how the Canines category used to be, and we'd like to avoid a repeat of that one, thank you! ;P
