:::Adding my two cents, I would remove Switch Palace too. It's just referring to the general concept (akin to Ghost House), and the levels themselves have their own articles so they'll be kept under the SMW levels category. --{{User:Waluigi Time/sig}} 12:57, January 26, 2024 (EST) |

There's a lot of stuff here from Yoshi's Story. These shouldn't be in this category, because the Yoshi's Island in SMW and the Yoshi's Island from the Yoshi series are probably different Yoshi's Islands. And even if they aren't, Dinosuar Land was featured in SMW, so it should only be places in SMW in this category. CrystalYoshi 14:05, 2 February 2008 (EST)

I noticed this category appeared to be in a less-than-healthy state, so I'm going to give it a dissection just like Camwoodstock did for the lookalike categories and Category:Thieves — though, as a massive majority of the articles here fall into a single group, this shouldn't take nearly as long.
- All levels and worlds from Super Mario World — Remove. Category:Super Mario World levels and Category:Super Mario World worlds are already subcategories of this category. Oddly, while the Valley of Bowser, Star World, and Special Zone are excluded from this category, their levels are still part of it. While excluding the latter two make sense as they are set in other dimensions, the Valley of Bowser seems to be part of Dinosaur Land, as the two levels on its cliffs can be accessed from Warp Pipes in Donut Plains and Chocolate Island. Either way, these special cases shouldn't be a reason to bloat this category with nearly every level and world from Super Mario World, as the subcategories still make sense as a generalization.
- SNES Choco Island 1 and SNES Choco Island 2 — Keep. These are race courses set on Chocolate Island. We should probably apply this category to the three Donut Plains courses from Super Mario Kart as well.
- Dinosaur Land — Keep. It'd be foolhardy not to include Dinosaur Land itself in a category all about Dinosaur Land.
- Dome Castle, Dome City, and Lava Pits (Super Mario World television series) — Keep. These are locations in Dinosaur
LandWorld exclusive to the Super Mario World television series. - Fall — Keep. This article refers to an alternate version of Dinosaur Land.
- Ghost House — Remove. Ghost Houses aren't an exclusive feature of Dinosaur Land.
- Giant Gate and Midway Gate — Remove. These are level objects, not locations.
- Star Road (Super Mario World) — Uncertain, leaning keep. These too are objects, but they're found on the world map rather than in levels, so I guess you could consider them "landmarks"...?
- Switch Palace — Uncertain, leaning remove. This is probably the biggest gray area in this category. The Switch Palaces in general are most prominently featured and named in-game in Super Mario World, but this article also covers the Cap Switch courses in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. As the choice to include it or not would be arbitrary, I'd lean towards not doing so.
Feel free to contest any entries in this dissection. SolemnStormcloud (talk) 21:05, January 18, 2024 (EST)
This is my take on this:
- All levels and Worlds from Super Mario World - Remove. Yeah, thought MAYBE there were some cases that could be kept, but no.
- The Donut Plains and Choco Island courses - Keep. Nothing much to say about this.
- Everything else but the last 2 I agree on.
- Super Mario World Star World - Keep They're landmarks, yes.
- Switch Palace - Keep if split, otherwise agree. If the Switch Palaces from Super Mario World get split from the Cap Switch courses, then I would be fine with keeping them.
That's my take, if you want to have a friendly debate about my take, or your take, I will be fine with it. SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) (talk) 11:29, January 26, 2024 (CST)
