Rollanratl, Wario Land: Shake It!

Rollanratl Battle is the first boss level in Wario Land: Shake It!, located at the end of Ratl Ruins. This level takes place inside a temple where Wario battles against Rollanratl.

Layout[edit]

The level starts at night outside of the temple. Four to six Merfles use their mystical powers to open the boss door. Upon arriving inside the temple, Wario senses Rollanratl lifting up a ceiling, and the battle begins.

Rollanratl starts off by dropping its head to the ground. Wario must jump in time, because otherwise, he will be stunned by the earthquake caused by the impact. If Rollanratl's head falls on top of Wario, he will be squished, but not take damage. After Rollanratl's head starts lying on the ground, Wario can Dash Attack into the weak spots on the sides of its head, hurting it. After each hit, Rollanratl prevents Wario from attacking again by using harmless shockwaves to push him back.

After two hits, Rollanratl starts the next phase. Its eyes change from orange to blue and exhibit a happy expression, and the robot shakes the ceiling, causing pillars to fall to the ground. Red pillars explode on impact, and blue pillars lodge into the ground for a brief moment, allowing Wario to jump on them and use his Jump Attack into Rollanratl's head. Following that, Rollanratl drops its head once more, and Wario can attack like in the last phase. It takes four deals of damage to complete this phase.

During the third (and final) phase, Rollanratl summons two Pouncer-like heads and replaces the weak points on its head with spikes, gaining a new weak spot on top of its head instead. Its eyes turn hot pink and become angry. Rollanratl continues to drop its head; however, the spikes prevent Wario from attacking its head from its sides and the new weak point is too high to reach, but two extra heads begin rotating (although they will later fire laser beams to the ground), allowing Wario to jump on top of one, ride it up to the top of its rotation cycle, and Ground Pound the top of Rollanratl's main head, which begins dropping maces.

After six hits, Rollanratl ends up exploding and disintegrating, and its corresponding Boss Emblem (or a diamond in the level's revisits) appears, concluding the fight.
