Buried Treasure is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party.
Introduction
The minigame takes place within the depths of the earth as there are rocks and layers of soil and dirt inside. The four players from each corner dig deep into the earth as they appear in the minigame. Shortly after that, the minigame starts.
Gameplay
Players have to find the Treasure Chest buried somewhere in the dirt by digging around the layers of dirt within the time limit of 60 seconds. Earth is fairly easy to dig the tunnels through since it is spread throughout the area. Rocks, on the other hand, are difficult to dig through, and they are located at the top and the bottom of the area. To make the minigame a bit easier, the players can find a few hidden arrows that are buried in the area. The arrows can help the players point to where the Treasure Chest is located. The first player who finds the chest wins the minigame. If no one does so within 60 seconds, the minigame ends in a draw.
The minigame can be purchased from the Mini-Game House for 150 Coins when it is available for purchase.
The treasure is placed at a random spot in a "+"-shaped region in the middle of the screen, to prevent it from being placed too close to the players' starting positions.[1]
