- —Hot Roderick, Wario Land: Shake It!
Hot Roderick Race is the second boss level in Wario Land: Shake It!, located at the end of Wiggly Wilds. This level takes place in an Africa-like desert trail where Wario battles against Hot Roderick.
Layout
The level starts in an a rocky land where four to six Merfles use their mystical powers to open the boss door. After Wario goes through the door, Hot Roderick drives past him and taunts him right before flooring his car, knocking him down. He retaliates by jumping into a yellow Unibucket-like vehicle with a booster and a fist contraption, and the battle against Hot Roderick begins.
In the first phase of the battle, Hot Roderick throws wrenches back at Wario. These wrenches must be punched by the vehicle's fist contraption, enabling them to hit Hot Roderick's engine. Once the engine is down for a short while, Wario can hit Hot Roderick with the contraption several times, damaging him.
Once Hot Roderick's HP is down to half, he begins the next phase; he raises his car up and throws tires. Although Wario can still hit his motor, he must steer the direction of the vehicle to punch the tires to the engine. When the engine goes down again for a little while, Hot Roderick's car will first come down, allowing Wario to hit him. Occasionally, Hot Roderick will also slow down for a moment and then rush forward at Wario, who must avoid this attack by making his vehicle jump.
At the final of his remaining health, the car will break apart and the scrap parts will fly at Wario. During the third and final phase, Wario must use his vehicle's contraption to hit them back. No damage is dealt to the driver, however. Once his car breaks apart, Hot Roderick runs across the ground with the steering wheel still in his grip; however, a single punch can defeat him.
After the decisive attack, Hot Rodrick is sent flying and is seen in the background a few seconds later, falling back to Earth, and the battle comes to an end. When Wario jumps off the vehicle, Hot Roderick's corresponding Boss Emblem (or a diamond in the level's revisits) appears, allowing him to collect it.
Missions
Missions appear only after the first round of the game is completed. Wario can obtain the background music to the battle after all the missions are accomplished.
