  • Super Mario Bros. 3 was released on the Wii U Virtual Console in Japan on December 25, 2013 and on the 3DS and Wii U Virtual Console in Europe and Australia on December 26, 2013.
  • Mario Tennis was released on the 3DS Virtual Console in North America on December 26, 2013. It will be released in Europe and Australia on January 2, 2014.
  • In the latest Nintendo Direct, NES Remix and Dr. Luigi (pictured) were announced for Wii U. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was confirmed to be released on February 21, 2014, in both North America and Europe.
  • Rosalina was confirmed to be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. Several new characters and courses have been revealed for Mario Kart 8. A Yoshi's Island-themed DLC level has been released for Sonic Lost World.
  • A diorama based on Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon was announced as a Club Nintendo reward for the on-going celebration of the Year of Luigi into 2014. The diorama is now available in Europe and is open for pre-orders in North America with an expected release date of March 2014.
  • Additionally, the European edition of the Nintendo Direct reveals a promotion for Nintendo 3DS users, as those who registered their Nintendo Network ID before the end of January 2014 will be eligible to receive a free download code of Super Mario Bros. Deluxe from the Nintendo eShop the following February (Europe only). Furthermore, the European Direct confirms the release of Super Mario Bros. 3 for the Nintendo eShop on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS for December 26, 2013, and the game will be available for a promotional low price during the first week after launch (Europe only).
