Manky Kongs[1] are long-armed orangutans found in the game Donkey Kong Country. Their names derive from the British slang term "manky", meaning "dirty" while also playing on the word's similarity to "monkey".
Manky Kongs are semi-common enemies found mostly in the later levels of the game. Manky Kongs attack Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong by hurling barrels at them in continuous pattern. Donkey and Diddy must avoid these barrels and jump on a Manky Kong's head to defeat it (it can also be defeated by hitting it with a Steel Keg).
Manky Kongs first appear in the level Orang-utan Gang. There, they attack the Kongs from their spots located on the treetops of the jungle. In later levels, they appear in high places for throwing the barrels, acting as obstacles.
Aside from the various remakes of Donkey Kong Country, Manky Kongs have not appeared again, though another orangutan named Lanky Kong appears in the game Donkey Kong 64.the manky kong is also a reject of the kong family for being too mischief.
