This article is about the red, spherical fish who made an appearance in DK: King of Swing. For other uses of "bubble", see Bubble (disambiguation).

Bubbles, known as Gloopy (グルッピー, Guruppī) in Japan, is a red balloon fish, and the savior of Clu Clu Land. She appeared in the Nintendo game called Clu Clu Land. She has also made various cameo appearances in the Mario franchise.

History

Super Smash Bros. series

Bubbles makes a cameo in Super Smash Bros. Melee as a trophy. An Unira, which is an enemy from Clu Clu Land, is an item in the games Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Bubbles appears as a spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

WarioWare series

WarioWare: Twisted!

Bubbles appears in WarioWare: Twisted! in one of 9-Volt and 18-Volt's classic NES videogames. The player must rotate the screen to make them collect a Coin. If the Coin is missed, the player loses the microgame.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

Bubbles appears in another Clu Clu Land game in WarioWare: Smooth Moves, where they must clear an obstacle course of Sea Urchins and black holes.

WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase

Clu Clu Land is one of the 18-Volt's microgames set in WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase. The game involves Bubbles and some Uniras among some pins. Bubbles is walking through the place and the player must press A Button while pointing a pin near Bubbles. She grabs the pin and change her direction. The player must avoid the on-screen Uniras until the time's up.

Bubbles ends up on Donkey Kong Island during the events of DK: King of Swing. Bubbles is the most well-rounded character in the game, and she has balanced stats of four in both Jump and Attack. To unlock Bubbles, the player must clear Diddy Kong Mode and collect all 24 medals. Bubbles can only be used in Jungle Jam Events.

Super Mario Maker

Bubbles appears as an unlockable Mystery Mushroom costume for Costume Mario in Super Mario Maker. The costume was added in version 1.40, and can be unlocked by clearing 100 Mario Challenge on Super Expert setting.

The mysterious Bubbles can only move straight ahead and has problems stopping: she changes paths by sticking out her hand and grabbing a post on the way by. If Bubbles makes contact with a Sea Urchin, she'll pop and deflate like a balloon. Bubbles protects herself by shocking Sea Urchins and pushing them into walls to destroy them.
