Fritz
Template:Species-infobox Fritz[1] are aquatic enemies currently appearing in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. They resemble yellow moray eels, hence their plump throats and elongated bodies. Fritz are patterned with violet stripes extending from their heads to their rear sides, dissolving towards their end. They display tiny pectoral fins, which are cyan (yellow in the concept artwork, shown here on the right) and placed behind their necks. They also feature an underbite, which frames a wide grin, and have a maniacal look in their near eyes as well. Each Fritz sports a violet crest on its small head, continuing along its scruff.
Fritz are mostly stationary creatures; nevertheless, at regular intervals, they warp themselves from place to place through self-generated whirpools; in other words, they are capable of teleporting. Their method of defence consists of grabbing their tails with their wide mouths and rapidly swirling, producing a load of electricity. The electricity is then discharged in the form of plasma balls, which are spread uniformly throughout water, disappearing after reaching a certain distance. These electrical concentrations are dangerous for the Kongs. After attacking, Fritz proceed in warping to another area, close to the current one. The form of attack freshly described marks a noteworthy discrepancy between the appearance and behavior of Fritz, as they act more like electric eels, despite having been visually designed to look like moray eels, as stated earlier.
Fritz themselves will drain one heart from the Kongs' health meter if the primates attempt to touch them. However, they can be taken out with a corkscrew move or with Cranky Kong's cane swipe. Fritz could still be harmful when charging up with electricity, and can only be attacked momentarily while they rest and are spare of no more electrical power.
Fritz only inhabit Sea Breeze Cove, the fourth world of the game they appear in. They debut in Deep Keep, the first level of the said world, and continue to show up in various levels which take place underwater.
