Template:Levelbox World 2-Castle is the castle of World 2 in New Super Mario Bros. 2. The level is spent nearly entirely on a platform that only moves if the player is stepping on it. Fireballs attempt to lurch out and hurt the player in this level.

Layout

The player starts out on a flat surface, where the Switch Lift is docked on the lava. After jumping on the moving platform, a few Buzzy Beetles are encountered, moving around on rotating Brick Block structures. When the player approaches the structures, they fold out, dropping the Buzzy Beetles onto the platform. Soon after, Thwomps appear. The player can bait these Thwomps into crashing into lava, destroying them. Shortly after, the Checkpoint Flag appears along with two ? Blocks, one of which has a Super Leaf inside. Another Switch Lift is docked here. The Switch Lift quickly approaches a quad of fireballs and the second Star Coin rotating above. The level's Red Ring is located directly after this, floating above a set of rotating Brick Block structures. Shortly after, a dual set of fireballs and a red pipe appear on-screen. A few more sets of fireballs is followed by a vertical section of coins with Hidden Block containing a 1-Up Mushroom in between them. The player will then approach the boss door.

Boss battle

The boss is Iggy Koopa, riding around in his Chain Chomp carriage. The battle plays extremely similar to his castle battle in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The Chain Chomp carriage travels on a rectangular grid layout and can exit the room from the top and bottom. Some sand will appear upon entering in the opposite direction. The player must stomp him on the head three times to defeat him.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1: The first Star Coin coin can be seen right above the second set of folding brick block platforms. To reach it, use the platforms that are under the Star Coin.
  • Star Coin 2: The second coin is swinging back and forth on the ceiling. The player can either use the springboard (from the nearby ? block) or they can try to jump for it.
  • Star Coin 3: The player will need the springboard, hiding in the ? block near the second Star Coin, to reach a red pipe in the ceiling. In this area, the player should run to the left and hit the P Switch in the left block. This will allow the player to get the final Star Coin. Alternatively, the player can use a Super Leaf to enter the red pipe. There are also two Hidden Blocks on both sides of the room that have 1-Up Mushrooms.

Enemies

Note: Iggy is riding his Chain Chomp carriage.
