Sand Tide is a type of harmful hazard where sand moves up or down in the Super Mario franchise.
History
Super Mario series
Super Mario World
Sand Tides debut in Super Mario World, appearing in Donut Plains 2 and Valley of Bowser 2. Sand Tides are yellow sandy platforms varying many different sizes that move up and down.
Super Mario Galaxy
In Super Mario Galaxy, Sand Tides appear in Dusty Dune Galaxy, where it moves up or down when activated. Once all 5 Silver Stars are collected, Sand Tides will sink and disappear.
