Deke
I'm not familiar with soccer, what is a "deke"? Waluigi Fan 23:10, 2 June 2007 (EDT)
It's basically a defensive manuver where the player spins themselves around in order to protect the ball. I'm pretty sure they also move the ball with them. At least, that's how it works in Strikers, although I think I've seen it in real soccer, too. Perhaps we should add a note about this in the page? --Stumpers
having a sentance describing what a deke is makes sense. Waluigi Fan 18:40, 3 June 2007 (EDT)
An article for each one
I'll like take the skillshots info for make articles that talk about them, and take also the super abilities in the same way. so, do you want I set them?
¢oincoll€ctor
That would be great. I think that's what people have done for other skills and such. There's even a category for it, and an article which the skill entries should be added to. I believe it's under moves on the main page. Anyway, if you'd like to, I know I'd appreciate it. I guess we should then delete the information from these pages once the articles have been made. Hoo... sounds like a lot of work! Good luck! Stumpers! 00:08, 10 June 2007 (EDT)
Petey, Diddy, and Bowser Jr.
When is someone gonna get artwork for these three some1 should just put a picture of them running and put the ball in the pic and has anyone notice that Kritter doesnt have a theme song I mean even though he cant make a goal he should have a ssong when he stops all the soccer ball or when the other team just makes a goal.
Uh...they don't actually have artwork (duh) User:Fixitup
I got an idea I'll just but there mega strike pic:>
I'm not really sure what you're saying about the theme songs, but I like the idea of using a standard screenshot for their pictures. By all means make them. Oh, but don't just update the pictures, because we need them for use on the Mega Strike page. Stumpers!
Music?
It's in the section about the characters, and I must say, the captains' are very wrong, and the sidekicks' look like it was online translated from Korean or something. I can't tell whether to gain approval for the music styles or to remove the part with it completely. MamaWaluigi 21:43, 2 August 2007 (EDT)
- Usually with pages like this one single person has to come along and rewrite parts that were written by many, simply because this flows better than the disjointed thoughts of others (although this isn't always the case, thank goodness). What you're seeing there I think is more of a "Hey, here's the information. Now we just need it to be put in good form." In short, by all means change what you see wrong, and if there's any incorrect information, please, please, please correct it! Thanks! Stumpers!
- I think it should be removed. MamaWaluigi 18:04, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- I dunno. Some are pretty good indicators of what it really sounds like. Can you tell me which part in particular you have issue with? Stumpers! 21:22, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
- Well, in particular, I don't see how Peach is Techno. Or how Yoshi is Energetic Broadway. Yoshi's is near gospel, if you ask me. And Wario's theme isn't polka. Polka is music that originates near the Rhine. It sounds more like a generic oompa. And the sidekicks are very undescriptive and bland. And Birdo's does not sound at all like a ballet. Just some, say, late Baroque music, or something. And Shy Guy's can't really count as a piano tune, as it's much more. And, of course, a fast-paced tune can describe music. And by "Charged's very own main theme, what would be the main tune, exactly? MamaWaluigi 14:01, 15 August 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, you're right. I didn't write these, and my only sources are what I find lying around the internet (videos, etc). Right now, I think the best option would be to remove it entirely, unless you can name the intruments found in each theme, and we could list them. Oh, and I agree, Peach's tune is more... I hate to say this... exotic dancer techno. ;( Sorry to use that term. Stumpers! 01:39, 16 August 2007 (EDT)
- Yo, I just have to say I did not make Wario's Polka, and I did not make the sidekicks section. I DID however decide that Yoshi's theme sounded like broadway music, and that Peach's was techno. If you know anything more descriptive than feel free to present to us your thoughts. Fixitup
- Well, Yoshi's theme doesn't sound like Broadway music. Have you ever even been to Broadway? I'm still sure it's around gospel. And although the instruments in which the melody's played is used in techno, it really isn't. That like saying just because someone plays Hungarian Dance no. 1 with a glockespiel doesn't make it glockenspiel music. Now, I think we should have a vote or something. Maybe a census or something. NICED job, man! I don't know where to put these things, maybe we should put all this info in the character articles (Example: The Mario informaiton in the Mairo article under a new section). Paper Jorge! I give paper cuts so stand back! Also I specially love Wario and Waluigi in the game, not because they're good but because of what they do. Like Waluigi's crotch chop, or Wario attempting to commit suicide with a Bob-omb (but it doesn't work nand he only gets burned up.)
Yeah but someone has 2 put one of those of thoses things that all the captians and all the sidekicks have like one of those borders so som1 can put the Celebration and d/a. King Mario
??? What? Can someone translate that, please? Max2 (talk)
- King Mario doesn't know how to put these reactions into the article in wikisyntax. Wa TC@Y 13:38, 12 August 2007 (EDT)
Oh. Uh K. It's hard to understand him ;) Max2 (talk)
- You misunderstood a lot of these. Kritter says "C'mon" a lot of the time, not "No". When Waluigi is about to do the Crotch Chop but stops, he doesn't laugh at his players, or laugh, he says "Yeah, I, WON!". He also says "Want the Ball, HERE!!!" not "Where the ball, here". Sorry, other than a few mistakes here and there, awesome work :) My Bloody Valentine
Bad news guys I'm not going to put this on the page beacause people keep on erasing the icon/stats so I'm just going to leave them on my page. King Mario
Jeez, Daisyrox02, if you love the unmario wiki so much why don't you go on there... and is everything about the characters supposed to be misspelled and messed up?? Sgt.Boo (talk)
DO NOT You Understand What You All Have Done???
Look at this article! There are bad images, there are red links, and everything is all crap CRAP CRAAP! I'm sorry but this article needs some SERIOUS work. Some thing you people need to do are make separate pages for certain sections like characters, challenge mode, items, side kicks! Also if you're gonna use images for the three secret characters get some good images for GGGRRR sake! Also whoever uploaded the sidekicks images needs to be shanked! You didn't even have the common decentsy to edit out the site name!!! Ok I now I'm being too angry with what I'm saying but seriously. When I have the extreme amount of time it will take to edit this article completely there will be 'HUGE' change. (pathetic really) Fixitup
- Well, someone got up on the wrong side of the bed :P Yeesh, just cos' you feel strongly about this article, doesn't mean you should burst out like that. I'll go over it, and fix up anything that doesn't go. Also, we don't have any better Images of the Unlockables. The person who uploaded the Sidekick Images was King Mario, how is he supposed to know how to edit Images? I'll fix that. My Bloody Valentine
whoa whoa whoa fixit calm down!
Do you not understand that no article is perfect, Fixitup? This is one of our more extensive sports articles. Images aren't the best perhaps here, but it's certainly not "crap". It does its job by explaining the game. Wa TC@Y 00:25, 18 August 2007 (EDT)
- I'm not sure whether I should be offended right now. I'm thinking not, because you didn't diss any of the parts I spent hours writing before the game was released, and besides, I don't give a crud. My philosophy is "put your edits where your mouth is" and its something I did when this article was still, "Mario Strikers Charged is a sports game for Wii." I think everyone knows the feeling where you look at an article and it stinks (don't know if this one does, though), but rather than get angry you should post a to-do list here and then go for it. I'm sure you know how to go into MS Paint and edit out the logos (or go to one of the sites w/o logos, like GameKult). I'm sure we can rewrite a couple of sentences for the sidekicks page, too. Stumpers! 08:37, 18 August 2007 (EDT)
Well excuse me for uploading such dumb pictures if you don't like em just erase them and try and find better picture yourself!!!!!! King Mario
- I think we have seen worse than this article. Mario Kart 64 is what's a bad article. This may need some tweaks, but overall, it's covering its subject. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 11:27, 18 August 2007 (EDT)
the point is that we tried are best.
The MissingLink Thats important!
- Yes, it covers what its supposed to. Look, it may need some tweaks here and there, I'll admit, but it still talks about the game, gameplay, what its like. As long as its got THAT kind of solid information, we are good for a while. But, yes, it needs tweaks on some places. (I might make a Table for the Stadiums, does that sound good?) My Bloody Valentine
- That would be great. Many of the stadiums are still "pre-release" work, so an update would be nice. :) Stumpers! 01:29, 19 August 2007 (EDT)
- Fixitup is right, in some fields. We do need to organize everything a bit better, but, other than that, we are OK. This is exactly why I suggested a Mario Strikers PipeProject, so we can go over any mistakes and errors in the Mario Strikers articles. Regardless, everything else seems fine, just the organization needs help. My Bloody Valentine The Super Mario Strikers article needs some help, as well.

Bad news. I can't do the Stadium Table until' I get all the Images of the stadiums. Sorry, but it won't work without the Images. My Bloody Valentine
- Ok then. Get the images!!!toadbert
- ... WHY ELSE DO YOU THINK I SAID THAT!!! The Stadium Images are not very easy to find. The official website doesn't have all the Images, and there are no MSC fan-sites that have the Images. My Bloody Valentine

I have found out Petey's team number. If you look closely during Petey's away entrance, you will notice the number 4 on his back shortly after he has landed. I have included a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JO3XNqp-R4

American Name Proposal
This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal. |
no quorum 1-1
This article should be a american name like most games on the wiki. The Mario strikers charged football name can be in the other languages template. We should make this page a redirect to the Mario Strikers Changed article in the future if we make an article for it. So we should make a Mario Strikers Charged article instead of this one.

Isn't this the ONLY in the mario series that uses the european name thus its the ONLY one that was released in Europe first?
- Its prequel was released in Europe first too. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
Unless our naming policy changed, this proposal is invalid. If you really want this title to be changed to the NA version, you need to go through the proper channels first. Make a proposal about changing that policy then come back here.--Knife (talk) 04:52, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
Captain stats
Lets keep them like this.
- Character Type: Playmaker
- Super Ability: Freeze Frame!
- Deke: Like Toad, Peach makes a somersault, carrying the ball with her. she can jump over the opponent with it.
Stats
- Moving 10
- Shooting 3
- Passing 10
- Defense 3
We don't need extra info like team colors and stuff.
If you want to take that action, you may need to make a Talk Page Proposal Supremo

PAL / NTSC differences?
I've noticed one difference while I was playing a PAL ISO of the game. During the loading screens, before a match, in the NTSC version, the characters' pictures are mugshots. When I played in a PAL ISO, it's only their heads. Can anyone confirm this? It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 20:16, 24 August 2014 (EDT)
I checked, both versions are different.
- Trivia perhaps, if it's the only distinction in both versions.
Losing animations in this game
I added the informations about the first three characters' losing animations in this page.Pierce Ng (talk) 21:39, June 4, 2022 (EDT)

The new table is very difficult to read
https://www.mariowiki.com/index.php?title=Mario_Strikers_Charged&diff=next&oldid=3929501
This took a while and I appreciate the effort behind it, but I need to say, it's not doing it for me. Not only all the information is under visually cluttered, confusing array of rowspans, it's more difficult to edit due to all information contained in one section (also this isn't showing up in the table of contents).
The older one[1] didn't have much issues to begin with. Why was it changed?
Also a lot of other galleries/etc formatted into tables like in Mario Kart Wii and Double Dash articles have the same issue, but this is the first table I came across. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 01:44, May 31, 2023 (EDT)
- The bullet points were incredibly difficult to read slabs of text and weren't even in a consistent order between characters. This ensures the order remains locked, and is more economical for space. Also, the old one didn't mention Kritter at all, and like so many other tables I've found, the images were needlessly tiny to the point of lacking clarity. As for the table of contents, even now it's overly bloated. There's obviously no perfect solution, but this is still more economical/readable/aesthetically pleasing. Either way, I don't think you should just revert, I fixed several bad grammatical errors that had only persisted so long due to the unreadably poor formatting of the original. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 07:15, May 31, 2023 (EDT)
- I do not like the use of colspans to condense redundant information (such as headers), that's not what it's for. I use a fairly wide monitor and I have to glaze my eyes to the center of the page to locate it, awkwardly while trying to find it. The original isn't unreadable; it's a bit spartan for sure but I can instantly tell where the home entrance information is because it's right next to a bullet point. Center-formatted text isn't also good formatting for bios either, since that's mostly a decorative formatting rather than something good to write blurbs about (blurbs should be left formatted). Additionally, I feel we don't need two thumbnails of characters surrounding their name. Plus, it's more difficult to edit: just to fix a small error regarding Koopa, Hammer Bro, and Birdo's classification, I have to scroll all the way back up to hit the edit function. - Btw are describing the opening winning and losing animations for the characters REALLY necessary? None of the Mario Tennis/Golf articles do this and I don't think we should describe Mario Party characters' winning animations. Ray Trace(T|C) 10:26, May 31, 2023 (EDT)
- I'm confused, what else would colspans be used for is such a case? Also, I had to strain my eyes to even find the labels for things with the old tables, since again, it wasn't consistently ordered and was formatted poorly. Either way, I agree either method would look better without the (often poorly described) animations listed. I just wish we could find official names for the Mega Strikes so they can be listed normally too. For the record, I was inspired by Nintendo101 (talk)'s table improvements on Super Mario series pages, since I realized the "sports" spinoffs (including the kart games) don't get much love (and also this is more consistent with Battle League's page). I've been going through them systematically for a little while, since I had previously done so with Diddy Kong Racing and no one had any complaint with it there. - Yeah, the old table was definitely a lot more readable in my opinion. If the biggest problem with the bullet points was that they weren't in a consistent order then they just should've been reorganized. I don't see how it was difficult to read before, they were all fairly short lines that had what it was describing right next to it. There's a number of problems here and this should probably be redesigned from the ground-up:
1. The table is designed incorrectly. Tables should be designed horizontally, not vertically. This is a problem with a lot of the tables on the wiki and it's something I've talked with Lakituthequick (who is well-versed in web design) about on multiple occasions.
2. Excessive use of images makes the table feel cluttered, one image per character is sufficient. Especially for the sidekicks, they don't look good at all on smaller screens. (The recently redone Double Dash table has the same issue of using way too many images and being overwhelming to look at.)
3. The description of what each cell actually is has been moved too far away by being centered on the page. If you're reading the characters on the sides, your eyes constantly have to jump back to the middle of the page. The bullet lists were neater in this aspect.
4. Stemming from the first problem, focusing on a single character while editing is much more difficult because that information is now broken up and mixed with other characters.
5. As already pointed out the sections are no longer accessible from the table of contents, an issue made worse when you consider that the table probably takes up even more vertical space (and thus longer scrolling time) than it did before. A table of contents is as long as it needs to be, so this change just made navigation more difficult for the sake of it looking nicer.
I appreciate the effort and initiative to improve these pages, don't get me wrong, but there's a lot of problems here that need addressing. (I'd also agree that we probably don't need to describe character animations on game pages, that's more of the nitty-gritty stuff that doesn't impact gameplay so much and better suited for the character articles themselves.) -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 12:03, May 31, 2023 (EDT)- I have removed the lengthy animation descriptions and changed the description/uniform/emblem headers to be less centralized. Do you think it would be "too much" to upload the actual team emblems rather than just having descriptions for them? I find images are a lot quicker for eyes to register than words, which is why I add things like item images, while the label icons just add further clarity on where that character's section starts and looks nice. Could anchors and {{edit}} solve the other issue? I like it when columns are properly aligned, which is difficult in separate templates. For things like player characters and bosses (when there is more than, say, four and not in a particular order in-game), I feel this grid-based tabling is better than tiny-image asymmetrical horizontal list tables (note how in Mario Kart Wii's previous revions, stat boosts were tucked away in a nearly-empty but still massive table below rather than be properly incorporated into the character list). Plus, this way, things like new and unlockable character don't have to rely on things like poorly-placed obscure asterisks to denote that. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 12:27, May 31, 2023 (EDT)
