If you happen to want to write for the Fake News for some crazy reason, here is how you should approach this:

Welcome on Edo's talk page. I'm glad that you somehow ended up here :3 It would be nice if you leave me a message. I'll be happy to read your stuff.
If you wrote me a message earlier and are now confused that it isn't there anymore, please visit my Archive.
Just a little rules so we can have a nice talk:
- If you leave a comment, I will reply here, so keeping track of the conversation won't be a pain in the rear.
- Be polite towards me and towards each other
- Try to type properly (I won't go grammar-nerd on you but please make it understandable)
- If you disagree with one of my decisions, please tell me here. Don't start any dubious actions like contacting every staff member except me. If you have a good reason to disagree, I will listen.
- I understand German, but it is likely that I will answer in English nevertheless
- No flaming, unless you have a Fire Flower! Flames will be removed without comment.
What's up?

Please send me (Doomhiker) your Fake News section(s) by November 11th. If you are unable to submit your section in time, please tell me as soon as possible, and I'll sort something out.
Yours truly,
Regarding my ban on Userpedia
Is there any reason I was? The only sockpuppet I had on Userpedia was him and I haven't even done anything with him since the day I created him. (Yes, I do know I just admitted to having a sockpuppet) Aiko HeiwaMSGContribs 16:28, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- We have strong reasons to believe that the two troll accounts Supa Poopen Hyden Man and Lord Voldemort are also owned by you. However, that is not all. When I re-joined the administration in September, there was already an administrative decision for your ban pending. The recent events only happened to recall that decision. Since I wasn't in the team during the period, I can only give you accurate information about the sockpuppeting. To learn about the reasons for that earlier decision you will have to contact someone who was present at that time. -

Monster Truck needed?
As you may or may not know, there is a Donkey Kong monster truck that competes on the major Monster Jam circuit in real life. Do you think we need an article about that? If we do, I'll happily write it. I'm a big monster truck fan and I know where to find the info. What do you think? Bowser's luma 21:31, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- That's certainly an interesting piece of information. I'll forward your question to the rest of the staff. - Gabumon(talk) 01:15, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, I pondered a while over it, and I think we could use that information. I faintly remember having seen information about something similar somewhere around the wiki, but unfortunately I couldn't locate it yet. That's why I don't know whether it should have its own article or be incorporated in something else. For now I think it would be best if you could create this article just like you planned. If anything should happen that makes the article better off incorporated somewhere else (whatever that may be), it can still be merged afterwards, so there should be no problem.
- Oh, I also heard someone suggesting to have a little reference blurb somewhere on the Donkey Kong article. -

Kirby Art 2
Hello, do you remember the Advent calender for Kirbytraum? Did you already find the time to draw something? I got only one submission so far, and obviously there won't be enough material for a "full" calender. But I'd be happy to be able to showcase at least a few works in December, thanks! :-) --Grandy02 20:58, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- Ah right, thanks for the reminder. I'll see if I can whip something up in the next days. -
Gabumon(talk) 22:00, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. Thanks for the effort. Maybe I'll also draw something - if both you and vellidragon send in art as well, I would have one work for every Advent. ^_^ --Grandy02 12:43, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
- Good news: Someone else sent me a picture. So I'd need the work of you and/or vellidragon by 12th December (3rd Advent). --Grandy02 20:00, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
- I've just sent my first contribution to the address on your site. Right now I am working on two more. -

- Wow, awesome work, thank you very much! :-D --Grandy02 19:29, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

- Hello, your first art will be the next one in the calender, but I still don't know its name. Could you just write it on your talk page here, please? It doesn't matter, it's not state secret. ;-) Otherwise, I'll have to name it myself... --Grandy02 18:57, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Your Fake Games section
Hey Edofenrir! I absolutely loved your Fake Games section on the recent November edition of the 'Shroom. It was hilarious! I'm trying to think of something to do for the 'Shroom myself; something completely original that nobody has done yet. I was going to do a travel guide, but that's taken. I could maybe do interviews with random people from the Marioverse, enemy or ally, to get their feelings about their rank, role, etc. in the games. What do you think? I think that the interviews would be kind of fun. BTW I'm Peachygirl 101.
- Thanks. I think there is already someone to write such interviews though: A user called Baby Mario Bloops. His section is called "Fake Interview". Maybe you could talk to Ralphfan or Tucayo about co-writing for that section. I remember I did this with Fake Weather for one issue. - Gabumon(talk) 22:04, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Can you have a look at Talk:Bowser's Galaxy Reactor please? This Is War 13:13, 11 December 2010 (UTC) PS: And, uh, you might want to fix your sig. You kinda put some new lines in the (Talk)...your sig is glitched 0_0...
- My sig is only glitched on this page since somehow the line breaks when the location and destination of the "talk" link are identical. What is the issue with the page you linked? -
Gabumon(talk) 13:37, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
- I think he wants your opinion on the matter. MrConcreteDonkey 13:39, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
- That's odd, then. I have a question on the talkpage. I want confirmation of what creates the black hole. The in-game cutscene (Youtube video link provided) shows it to be the planet Bowser lands on, but the article states that it is the giant Sun. I'm fairly sure that the planet is the second one where Bowser fights Mario. This Is War 13:42, 11 December 2010 (UTC) MCD: Yeah, that too.

My mom is a freak
She's constantly complaining about having too little money. (you already knew that)
Now she bought a Wii. (you should have seen that coming)
And she thinks Miis are cute. (are you barfing yet?)

- Do you want to know the best part? Guess what: The Miis will be miigrating to the 3DS. If your mother is going to buy that one too, prepare for a nasty little miigraine.
- I lol'd hard :D
- I've been earning a little money through programming lately, so if my mother eventually ends up not having enough time for playing anymore, I might kinda "inherit" it (she already alluded to this), and I guess I'd buy Super Paper Mario then ^^
- By the way, is there any chance I could show you a tiny game I have been making recently? Kennymon 16:02, 12 February 2011 (EST)
- You will most likely be disappointed by Super Paper Mario. The factors that appealed to you in the other two games aren't present anymore. Also: Why me of all people? -
Gabumon(talk) 19:39, 12 February 2011 (EST)
- Yeah, I know SPM is more of a Jump 'n Run and neglects its RPGish roots, and it's kind of sad, but I thought I might try and be a bit more open-minded and give it a go. But alas, my mom doesn't seem to be giving her Wii away too soon ^^ Oh, why you of all people, dunno, I hoped you might be able to tell me :3 Kennymon 17:10, 19 February 2011 (EST)

Dark Spin Merge
Hello, just dropping by to ask you to take a look at the dark spin page, it has a heading asking you to give input on whether the page should be merged with Bowser. I have been thinking about making a TPP for merging it, but I'm not sure what the criteria for merging are. I would really appreciate it if you would tell me if merging is a good idea or not. Thank you, Geekiness is an end, not a means - Bop1996 11:34, 24 February 2011 (EST)
- What Knife says is true: Attacks that are not officially named shouldn't have their own articles, as it opens the possibility for articles about every whimsical movement of a character as long as someone makes up a fancy name for it. So I think a merge would be in order. I would say this on the talk page as well, but it would basically just be a repetition of what Knife already said. -
Gabumon(talk) 19:42, 24 February 2011 (EST)
- Thanks again, I'll create the TPP soon. Geekiness is an end, not a means - Bop1996 20:45, 24 February 2011 (EST)

Question
Why do you delete other peoples' userpages and talk pages if they are blocked? It doesn't make sense and IDK why, but I kinda like restoring unreasonable pages that were deleted. Sorry... Kaptain K. Rool
- I delete them because with the ban of the respective user, these pages become useless. Banned users don't need to be showcased on our database. It serves no purpose other than pointless distraction. - Gabumon(talk) 17:47, 12 March 2011 (EST)
Adminship reply
Wait what? Yes you are right about the sysop thing, but the thing is I really want those powers, but I just couldn't help but sneak away and ask in a sneaky way. You're right I should wait. SOme are you saying it is ok to want sysop powers? Kaptain K. Rool
- I'm going to try answering your question in sufficient detail. What you need to do, though, is listen, and listen thoroughly. You actually have been given your answers multiple times by now, but for whatever reason, you chose to ignore the essential. Thinking back, Porplemontage nailed the point pretty decent here. Becoming a sysop is nothing a user should concern themselves with. It can happen if you are a decent user, but it doesn't need to.
- I'm also getting the impression that you are misjudging the function of a sysop. Most people see sysops and think of them as untouchable people who can waltz around and tell other people what they have to do for their own amusement. It isn't like that. With being sysop comes responsibility, and a great heap of disadvantages as well. You cannot carefreely stroll through the community anymore, because you have to be in charge and ensure that nothing goes wrong. You have to yell at and punish people, even if you might actually feel sorry for them, or even if they are your friends (which you might then lose in the process). You have to subdue your own emotions a lot and deal with offenders in the most objective and fair way possible, even if they throw shit at you. Every decision you make is bound by the rules, and you have to know them. You sometimes have to surrender your own opinions in favor of what is best for the wiki. If you abuse your power to do whatever you want, you will get reprimanded and you even might lose your sysop privilegues again. So shortly: Being sysop is not about having power, it's about having a job. It's work. Tedious, exhausting, and ungrateful work. If you put all of this in perspective and think about what these things would mean for you, I am certain you wouldn't want to become a sysop anymore, because for you, it would mean losing a great deal of freedom.
- Even if the above stuff doesn't change your mind about becoming a sysop, I have to tell you that this job requires a certain degree of discipline. Every once in a while, we admins come together and discuss if any new patrollers should be assigned. While doing this, every admin has their own values they look for in candidates. Personally, the things that matter the most for me are modesty and kindness, honesty, mental maturity, and most importantly, trustworthiness. Things like high edit counts or addressing me with "sir" don't matter to me at all. I merely look for those virtues in a person. Every candidate I supported so far exceled at most of these virtues, and I am proud of them, and the progress they have made. I don't support candidates I cannot be proud of.
- So, if I look at you and everything I have seen of you so far, I am sorry, but I (among others) believe that you are not ready for becoming a sysop right now. You wouldn't make it very long. You have shown to be prone to disobedience. You bear the marks of low personal discipline ("I just couldn't help but sneak away and ask in a sneaky way."). Your self-control leaves a lot to be desired. Whenever you asked for a promotion, you mentioned power. Power seems to be all you seek, which speaks for itself. All in all, these are qualities that should not be present in a viable future Sysop. My honest judgment is that a promotion will not happen for you in the near future. If you still desire to become a sysop, you can start by learning to control these impulses and taking your time to mature. But this will be no easy task and you need to decide if that is really worth it. And don't delude yourself by taking this lightly. I assure you, a change of this magnitude will take years. That's all I have to say on the matter of your power desires.
- Those who are familiar with my M.O. know that I tend to give out advice to people. The advice I can give you is this: You are a user of the Super Mario Wiki because you like the subject and you have fun writing articles and editing. If your sole reason for being here is to achieve power, you are doing something wrong.
- This is a huge wall of text. I pray writing it wasn't a waste of time. - Gabumon(talk) 18:27, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
- I'd like to emphasize the fact that we will NOT promote someone if we have reason to believe that they "really want those powers". Lots of users have "become a Sysop" on their list of goals, and that's okay because it's only natural for someone to aspire to great things, but they shouldn't edit because they want a promotion. If we see someone doing that, it tells us that they care more about themselves than the wiki: we don't want someone like that on the core staff. It is not the sort of behaviour that should be rewarded - least of all with power: if they're not mature enough to contribute without fishing for praise and rewards, they're certainly not mature enough to be a reliable authority figure. - Walkazo 19:26, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
Yes, another question.
I have noticed that we aren't very consistent when linking to other NIWA sites on SSB articles and the like. I find this a little odd, because, for example, we have an article on Link, which deals very well with all his appearances in Mario and SSB games, and gives enough info for someone else to understand a bit about him, but let's say that someone on this site finds Link an interesting character, and would like to know more about him. Instead of him having to ask or be told by another user that there is a better article on Link on the Zelda Wiki, wouldn't it be better to link (pun not intended) to the featured article on Link on Zelda Wiki, which would tell any user all about him? The same applies to, say, Samus, Pikachu, and Kirby, I'm sure the articles on their respective wikis would be a good thing to link people to if they want more information. If it is a good idea, I have a few other questions. Is putting the information on something I should create a pipe project for, or something I need to make a proposal about, or something I should just do myself? (I don't think I can do that) Bop1996 (Talk) 4:47, 14 March 2011 (EST)
- I'm probably a horrible candidate for answering a question like this, seeing how I don't have much to do with NIWA anymore, but I think you are mostly right. Those interwiki link circumstances need fixing and more consistency. We actually discussed this at some point, but it eventually came to a standstill when some users took an unfinished template and applied it to articles prematurely, or something along those lines. Anyway, if you can think of an elegant way to solve this problem, you are encouraged to do so. I think a PipeProject covering that wouldn't be a bad idea either. You could try talking about those suggestions to someone who is up-to-date with NIWA stuff as well, like User:Super Mario Bros.. - Gabumon(talk) 18:48, 14 March 2011 (EDT)

Hi
What Mario games do you play/ Do you have Mario games? Kaptain K. Rool
- I have played most of the bigger Mario games, beginning with Super Mario Bros., over Super Mario World and Super Mario 64, and ending with... Super Mario Sunshine I guess. I never played any of the Super Mario Galaxies or New Super Mario Bros. due to the lack of both a Wii and a DS respectively. The game that got me into the Mario series when I was a kid was Super Mario Bros. 3. My most favorite Mario game ever is Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Recently I have been playing a lot of Super Mario Sunshine. - Gabumon(talk) 09:12, 15 March 2011 (EDT)

Sammer Guy Tattles
Hi! A long time ago, I wrote down a bunch of the tattles for some of the Sammer Guys from Super Paper Mario (don't ask me why :D), so I was wondering, do you think we need those on the page that lists all the Sammer Guys or not?
(I can't necessarily promise that I'd have them for every Sammer Guy, maybe just like the first 30 or so...)
PHOENIX (talk • edits) 07:33, 16 March 2011 (EDT)
- Yeah, I think something like that would make a nice addition to the page, even if its not a complete list. Someone else might pick up the edit baton and add in the rest later. (I don't really need to ask why, I like to collect those little tibits of information as well :3). - Gabumon(talk) 07:55, 16 March 2011 (EDT)

Hi again its not that I don't trust but I think I will wait for the userpage thing but can you make me sig and then when you reply to this put the sig on it. The way I want my sig: Has a picture of Roy Koopa and then says RussellsDad in dark blue and links my userpage that will be created later and a link to my talk page. Please and thank you.-RussellsDad
Sorry
Oh I'm sorry. You don't have to design it I will. But can you please make the page.-RussellsDad
A couple Questions
Is there a way to see a list of Mario Wiki Users? Also would you mind creating me a page for my sig, not user page just sig. Lm 19:29, 16 March 2011 (EDT)
Thanks
Thanks for creating my sig page and deleting that pointless warning for me!! Thanks so much!! Lm 20:54, 16 March 2011 (EDT)
Last Question
First of all thank you sooooo much for creating the page for my sig. You were really a lot of help. If you need any help just tell me I'll be there. I just one last question I've heard from a lot people that you become auto-confirmed a week from when you first made your account. Is that true? Please reply on my talk and once again thank you so much for making my sig page. See ya later.- RussellsDad(talk)
Userpedia question
Would you be able to help me out with a quick Userpedia issue? I hear you're a Sysop there too...
PHOENIX (talk • edits) 03:11, 18 March 2011 (EDT)
- Well, I talked to my friend the other day, and I found out that he is a user of several ranks on a few different wikis. So, I told him that he should consider creating an account on Userpedia. He emailed me back and told me that for whatever reason, creating new accounts on Userpedia is currently disabled, and that they ask that any users wishing to create an account contact an admin via chat, but that the chat program is being blocked by his PC's security. He therefore wanted to know if I would request that an account be created on his behalf, which of course I have no problem doing, only I'm not really certain that that's even allowed (but I'm like 99.9% sure it's not). But even if I can't do that, is there another way he could contact someone instead? Anyway, since you know a lot more about Userpedia than I do, I thought I should ask you what I should do in this situation.
PHOENIX (talk • edits) 18:39, 19 March 2011 (EDT)
- Yes! Actually, in his email, he told me that he would like to have the username: "KenVille" if it's available...
PHOENIX (talk • edits) 23:10, 19 March 2011 (EDT)
- Well, that's exactly what I was wondering about when he asked me to do that for him...I guess you could email it to me at kujoathome@gmail.com, that'd be private right?
PHOENIX (talk • edits) 23:28, 19 March 2011 (EDT)
- Okay, I got it! Thanks a lot for helping me with that! I'm sure my friend will appreciate it! :)

Signing up for Fake News
Hello. I want to sign up for the fake news. The parts I want to do are Travel Guide and Fake Police Blotter. Both of these spots are open.I have lots of free time so you can count on me to write on Fake News. I hope to hear back from you soon!
Sincerly MARIO MASTER
- Hi. I outlined what you need to do to sign up for a FN position on top of this page. Just follow the first five points in that purple box thing up there. The first thing you need to do is register an account at the forum, if you haven't already. - Gabumon(talk) 08:26, 19 March 2011 (EDT)
Question
Do you play Rare/Rareware games? I sure do. Kaptain K. Rool
- Yes, I like Rare's older games, especially the Banjo-Kazooie series. - Gabumon(talk) 02:49, 23 March 2011 (EDT)
{{System-Infobox}}
I'm not really sure why did you remove the |Bit= part, but I think you know what you're doing. Should we at least mention about the bits on the articles? SWFlash
- The reason can be found on Talk:Wii, 2257 explained it pretty well. If you're knowledgeable about how CPUs work, you can include that information in the articles, yes. -
Gabumon(talk) 06:24, 23 March 2011 (EDT)
- All he said is that proof about 32-bitness of consoles/handhelds and non-existense of 256-bit CPUs. The reason isn't visible for me. SWFlash
- "Describing an entire console as being so‐many‐bits is a pretty meaningless thing to do. Essentially, it's advertising rhetoric that got popular in the ’90s. The reality of the system's specifications is far too complicated to boil down to a single number." - Gabumon(talk) 07:18, 23 March 2011 (EDT)

Hello
- Can you please delete File:GruntyWitch.jpg? I replaced the image with better quality and bigger image. Kaptain K. Rool
Unblock Users
- Can you please unblock KoopaYoshi, Mileycyrussoulja, and TheUltimateKoopa please? I think you guys were a bit too hard on them. First of all, KoopaYoshi didn't mean to impersonate, he was only making a comment while fooling around with the impersonations and he should've had and warning instead. Mileycyrussoulja only made a flaming poem and only deserved to be blocked for a few months for one message, nd TheUltimateKoopa didn't really flame Gamefreak75 badly and he sould have been blocked for a few months for that. Can you please unblock the three of them? Thanks... Kaptain K. Rool
- Sorry sir... Kaptain K. Rool
- By bossy what do you mean I have been bossy? Kaptain K. Rool
- Sorry sir... Kaptain K. Rool
Users to Unban
Hey Edo, you know the user RudnickiMarioX06? His racist and sexist comments weren't too bad, and he shouldn't have been permabanned. You should unban him. Ralphfan>>Organized Chaos
Forums
- Can you unprotect my forum article there please? I want to see it. Besides I don't care if people are in my buisness. Kaptain K. Rool
- Well first off, the forums don't have articles, just threads. Secondly, you cannot "unprotect" it because it is only meant for administrative discussions, which of course, is only meant for staff of the wiki to discuss in. Please stop pestering people about this matter. Thank you. --FREAK ~Game Freak~ OUT!
Deletion
- I have tagged articles for deletion. Can you please delete them because they are bad redirects. Thanks Kaptain K. Rool
Hi
Hello, I'm DKPetey99. Can you please look at this? This user is trying to catch up by putting 5 edits in a row on article's talk pages! Can you do something about it, please? DKPetey99TCE
- I have given the user in question a warning about that sort of behavior, which I already considered when I saw the edit cluster on Talk:Luigi. I understand that this situation must frustrate you, but I don't think that too much or the wrong kind of pressure is the solution either. I can see that you told him to "catch up" over and over again on his talk page. The problem is, even if a user shapes up and starts editing main space, they won't be catching up immediately when they had about 300 user space edits before. So, what I'm trying to say is that edit counts aren't as important as they seem. The process of managing the balance between main and user space is more of a situational thing. We should focus more on what people do in the present, instead of solely the numbers beneath their names. And if (I repeat, if) that guy starts editing properly from now on, then he won't need more warnings. - Gabumon(talk) 17:02, 1 April 2011 (EDT)
Thanks! But that user already got a last warning! That warning should be turned into a block! DKPetey99TCE 18:24, 1 April 2011 (EDT)
Galaxy icons
Do you think we could add a "Galaxy Icon" section to the information boxes for each galaxy, just to convey what is used to represent that particular galaxy? I was thinking about it, and it seems like it would be worthwhile...
PHOENIX (talk • edits) 17:46, 1 April 2011 (EDT)
- If such icons exist for each galaxy, then I would say it's a nice idea if it can be properly implemented in the infobox. - Gabumon(talk) 19:09, 1 April 2011 (EDT)
- Okay, thanks, I'll get right on that...and actually, I was serious...I've just seen situations on here where perfectly well-intentioned jokes can go awry...
PHOENIX (talk • edits) 19:19, 1 April 2011 (EDT)
- Idk, I've only been on here a few months, so I'm still learning what's accepted and not...just trying to be careful, u know?
PHOENIX (talk • edits) 19:29, 1 April 2011 (EDT)
Thanks. :)

Your Warning
You know the warning you gave me that looked like this?
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (flooding the Recent Changes with too many consecutive edits within a short time) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site. If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
I think you gave this to the wrong person. I don't think I even did this. So I think you might of been mistaken.
Hi there!
Hi, I am Superfiremario's dad, and I was reading his page and saw he had a lot of warnings... I just wanted to fill you in on a few things. He has Asperger's Syndrome, which is on the Austism Spectrum, and he is only nine years old. He really loves Mario, and really loves this website! He spends a lot of time on it and is really excited about how he can create and edit things here. The mistakes he has been making are not because he is violating rules on purpose, he simply doesn't understand how the site works. He is very proud of his user page, which is why he has spent so much time on it. I do understand the warnings and he is working on following them - please understand his situation, however... he would be devastated if he was blocked from MarioWiki! if you explain to him exactly what his mistake was, he will follow it. Thanks so much... Superfiremario's dad
Galaxy icons completed!
Well, I finally just finished implementing the Galaxy Icon information into all the galaxy articles like we had discussed, so hopefully everything is satisfactory... :)
