How did you get "Bear" out of "Tamanoripū"? Unshy Guy 14:09, 22 June 2015 (EDT)
- It's not a literal translation: as the article shows, the name comes from an issue of Nintendo Power. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
Ball-riding Pooh[edit]
The official website specifically refers to the bear itself as プー (Pū/Pooh). Roughly; "After defeating Pooh, Mario can ride on its ball." This indicates to me that タマノリプー is meant to be parsed as Ball-riding Pooh, rather than "Tamanoripū" being a name as such.
- Well that explains the Google translator's hilariously-failed attempt at translating that description saying "if you pull the poo," I suppose. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk)
- So are we agreed to change it back? SuperDragonRosalina (talk) 15:36, 2 August 2018 (EDT)
- Somewhat. I don't want it to be that concretely-stated to certainly be a reference, but as it's still likely, I have now changed it to say something similar. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:43, 2 August 2018 (EDT)
