Gooper Blooper in Super Mario Sunshine

The Gooper Blooper is a boss in Super Mario Sunshine. Reappearing in levels such as Ricco Harbor and Noki Bay, Gooper Blooper is a giant Blooper. He uses his tentacles to smack Mario, draining the plumber's health points. Gooper Blooper can also spew ink all over once the player pulled out the cork in it's mouth, and Mario has to wash it off with FLUDD. Once the area is completely clean, Mario can grab his mouth, pull back, and release to harm Gooper Blooper. This must be completed two times to defeat Gooper Blooper. He can also spin his tentacles around like a propeller to damage Mario. Glooper Blooper will also try and harm Mario by slamming his tentacles at Mario, but if dodged, can be stepped on to keep it from moving and then pulled to make it easier to get to the mouth. However, in the second fight in Ricco Harbor, he has to have his mouth stretched two times to beat him for good.

Gooper Blooper reappeared in Mario Power Tennis where he was the opponent in the mini-game Gooper Blooper Volley.

Gooper Blooper appeared again in Super Princess Peach as the fifth Boss in the game and is defeated by whacking his tentacles and mouth with Perry. After he lost three health points, he used the Calm vibe to fall asleep and regain health. Peach woke him up with the Rage vibe and took out his remaining two health points.

In Mario Hoops 3 on 3, Gooper Blooper appears in the court called Pirate Ship. His job is much like the mythical monster, the Kraken, surround the ship in a menacing way and attack all passengers of the boat. Gooper Blooper smacks the player with his tentacles if the player got too close to the edge.

The beta version of Gooper Blooper.
  • In the beta version of Super Mario Sunshine, Gooper Blooper was dark blue in color. Gooper Blooper was later changed to his current coloration for unknown reasons, maybe to make him look more like a Blooper; his strange blue color could also have been generated by technical difficulties.
  • In Super Mario Sunshine Gooper Blooper was the only boss who appeared in 3 episodes, two in Ricco Harbor and one in Noki Bay.
