The Super Mario Bros. 20th Anniversary was an event taking place throughout the last few months of 2005, celebrating twenty years since the start of the mainline Super Mario series with the release of Super Mario Bros. in 1985.
The official celebration was concluded sometime in late 2005. The celebration was succeeded in 2010 by the Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary
