Upcoming Games
My Bloody ValentineAw, I'm just reviewing some of the same games as last time! Curse you, Nintendo!
Donkey Kong Wii
Well, I gotta say, this game is getting annoying. Donkey Kong Wii STILL has no real information, so I'm starting to believe it got cancelled. Either that, or a lot of work has to be put into it. So, don't get too excited over this game, as a release date is still yet to be revealed.
Dr. Mario & Bacterial Eradication
Well, I'm not sure what the "WiiWare" is, but, Puzzle games like this have always been fun to me and my brother. The stupid thing about Dr. Mario & Bacterial Eradication, is that Dr. Mario is replaced by Miis! You call this a Mario game!? Well, at least it has Wi-Fi Connection.
Either way, there are no release dates for the game, at this current moment. Hopefully, we'll see some release dates for the WiiWare games.
Mario Kart Wii
One of the greatest Mario spin-off series ever, makes its Wii debut in the form of the tentatively named, Mario Kart Wii.
First being shown at E3, this game has been confirmed to use the Wii's functions completely, with a new Wii controller being packed with the game; the Wii Wheel. Sony tried this stunt, and I personally hated that stupid wheel, but, will Nintendo do a bit better in this area? Well, anyway, it will have much of the gameplay from previous titles, but it has a few of major changes. First of all, players don't ride in Karts anymore, but rather, they ride in cars, or other motorized vehicles of the like. Even a Motorbike can be used! Stunts can be performed during a ramp jump, which is cool, as I love showing off! Currently confirmed characters are: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Wario, Waluigi, Toad, Bowser, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Boo, Donkey Kong and Koopa Troopa, with more to come! Additionally, instead of eight, there will be twelve racers in a single race. That's really something! But, you can get more humiliated if you come last.
Well, there are no exact release dates at the moment, but America and Japan get the game early in 2008, while Australia and Europe wait for later in the year.
Super Mario Stadium Baseball
Super Mario Stadium Baseball is the Wii sequel to the Nintendo GameCube game, Mario Superstar Baseball. Well, I'm fairly sure it will use the Wii Remote's capabilities. After all, Baseball would be perfect for the Wii.
Information is limited. Nintendo only revealed, like, 10 screenshots. Nice going, Nintendo! Well, at least we get to see new stadiums; Mario Stadium, Yoshi Park and Wario Field. They all look pretty funny, and seem really well done, graphically. Characters include: Mario, Wario, Luigi, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Yoshi, Peach, Daisy, Donkey Kong, Koopa Troopa, Paratroopa, Magikoopa Shy Guy, Dry Bones, Noki, Pianta, Hammer Bro., Goomba and Waluigi. That's a big list. I wonder who else could become playable, as all the characters we've seen so far are from the last game.
Well, I'm afraid there isn't much to talk about on this game, at the moment. No release dates yet, sadly, but keep hanging on!
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Smash Bros. Brawl is, what could be, the biggest Wii game since Super Mario Galaxy! I have a lot to talk about on this game, so, get ready.
*ahem*, Brawl is a fusion of Fighting and Action. The game brings in several Nintendo characters from other series, and pits them against each other in a choice of several stages. However, for the first time in the Super Smash Bros. series, characters from Nintendo's third party affiliates have joined the Brawl. Each character has a set of normal attack moves, as well as four special attack moves, which usually cause some added effect. There are also Final Smash moves, which can be used when a Smash Ball has been smashed open! Let the power flow through you, as the Final Smash provides you with the ability to use an incredibly strong attack! Mastering these moves and good strategy are the keys to winning. There are four different control types; Wii Remote held horizontally, Wii Remote and Nunchuk together, Wii Classic Controller, and the Nintendo GameCube Controller. Go to the Gameplay section for more details. The list of characters are, Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, Fox, Samus, Zelda, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Peach, Ice Climbers, Pit, Wario, Zero Suit Samus, Ike, Pokémon Trainer, Diddy Kong, Meta Knight, Snake, Lucas, Sonic and King Dedede. That's a lot of characters, and there are more to come! Go here for the Stages and here for the Items. Assist Trophies are new to Brawl, acting as characters that assist the player who released them. This allows players from more obscure Nintendo series to appear in the game. There are also new Pokémon have been confirmed to emerge from the Poké Ball, marking the debut of 3rd and 4th Generation Pokémon.
The Subspace Emissary is a new game mode in the game, acting as the main Action part of the game. With an actual story plot to it, the Subspace Emissary features several of Brawl's playable characters' quest to defeat the Subspace Army, an evil race of dark beings who want to draw the entire world into Subspace. Go here for more information on the game mode, or go here for the rest of the confirmed story of the Subspace Emissary. Classic Mode also returns from Super Smash Bros. Melee, acting the exact same as before. Event Matches return in this game as well, but they are completely new. Additionally, the Event Matches now have a difficulty choice, so if you feel bored of an easy Event Match, switch it to hard, and test your skills! Wi-Fi Connection has also been implemented in the game, allowing players to connect and battle from across the globe! However, its range of capabilities are larger when you are playing with registered friends. Trophies, Stickers and CD's enhance the fun of collectible items, as they get players eager to collect them all. And because there are three kinds of collectible items, the game will go on forever!
Well, I don't wanna go on TOO long, so I'll end here. January 24th is the Japanese release date, with the Americans release coming on February 10th. Australia and Europe have no release dates yet, sadly. Well, the games release in Japan and America are just around the corner! Get ready, guys!
