Re: Archiving

I am the master of archiving...? Anyways, I've archived your old talk page. To archive there are two main steps to follow:

1. Move the page (using the move function) to (e.g.) User talk:Phoenix/Archive 1. It doesn't have to be that, some people just do User talk:Phoenix/1, or anything else, it's up to you.
2. Get rid of the redirect. If your talk page is being redirected to the archive, nobody can talk to you. So go to your talk page and delete the redirect.

Whether you want it protected or not is up to you; talk to a sysop if you do. You can also make a template that goes on all your talk pages like I do; that's how I link to my archives. If you have any more questions, I'm here. Marioguy1 (talk)

-I think that we cover means of transportation so I'm pretty sure that the cockpit would be fine...
-The Luma cages weren't really that notable, I don't really think an article is necessary.
-The Star List isn't that notable either to be honest.
-I really hate shooting down people's hopes but the portal to the next galaxy isn't that notable either.

Sorry, but conjectural articles shouldn't be created unless it's a major part of the game. I don't think that the Luma cages, star lists and portals are major; they're more like accessories. We don't create an article on aspects in the Galaxy (e.g. Planets) so I don't think articles on these things should be made. However with Bowser Jr.'s Cockpit, I am undecided. It's BJ's main method of transportation for the game so it may be notable enough, I don't really have an opinion there. However, in this case it is conjectural and when making a conjectural title for something, you want to be as specific as possible. Iwata said in an interview with a Japanese newspaper that the next iteration of DS will have “highly detailed graphics”.

I don't know what to say, as I don't believe it's part of the DS series either, despite its similar name. Nintendo said it was succeeding the DS series, so it has to be separate. It also plays different games than the DS. I think the only thing you need in that article is a mention that the 3DS succeeds it, since all you need to know about the 3DS then is in its own article. Sorry, but no, it would still be conjecture. Unless the game actually calls it a portal, it's not a portal. The screenshot you posted is just the game describing the object; it's using "portal" as a noun, not a proper noun. To put this in slightly more intelligent terms...

The use of "portal" in that sentence is as a noun, shown by the fact that the word does not adhere to the traits required for a term to be a proper noun (read: it is not capitalized). As the term does not follow rules required of a proper noun, it is safe to assume that it is not a proper noun and therefore is, in fact, a noun, aiding to describe the object in question. The game is simply using "portal" to refer to the general type of object, it is not naming this object specifically as a Portal.

Youtubes videos suck

Catagorizing

It's not necessarily, actually. I'm really sorry, but please stop adding mainspace categories to images: they are for articles only. Images get their own categories, which are usually only organized by game/show/console, since organizing them by subject isn't actually useful: as Yoshiwaker said, the articles themselves simply get those categories. Don't worry, I know you were only trying to help. Going through the images, I actually found a couple mainspace categories that had been erroneously added much earlier; in particular, there were a few Mushroom images with them, which were the ones you seemed to start with, so I figured that's where you got the idea. We don't really have any pages that explain what should or shouldn't be done with categories (the most I could find was in the Manual of Style): most of the time, we just follow the people who came before us, and since image categorizing is still new, there isn't much to go on, so your mix-up was perfectly understandable, and I'm sure no one would hold you at fault for it. I was actually on the fence about the Glitch images at first, but having thought it over a bit, I think those categories should be removed too: not all glitches have images and the list of glitches pages also use the category, so it's not like Category:Brawl Trophies, which has a mainspace-sounding name, but is an exclusively image-filled category (and can therefore remain). But don't worry about doing it for me: this kind of gnomework is right up my alley, and I don't usually bother with images, so it gives me a rare chance to do extra maintenance work on them. - Walkazo 12:51, 21 April 2011 (EDT)

Naming

Pushy Walls were renamed to Tsukidashi-kun because, unlike their Japanese name, which is official, their English name was conjectural. We tend to use the official Japanese name over the conjectural English name when providing a name to the article, thus that is why the change was made. As with Noki Elder, I don't think he is ever given an official name, and to be honest, I think Noki Elder sounds a lot more formal and professional than Grandpa, which he is only refered to by his grandson. --FREAK ~Game Freak~ OUT!

Patrollers: What to do?

Well, you are invited to join to the forums to meet an especial zone where you can make any questions of this kind. In the forums we're able to give you hints and actions you should do since you have new "powers". Basically you block those users that are corrupting the wiki, get their IPs to see if they have sockpuppet accounts (I mean more than one) and enter into special pages that for other users are restricted. ¢oincoll€ctor PD: Project Cafe is real, heck yeah!

Almost I forgot. You can also rollback an user's edit in the article's history. It's like undo but quickier. ¢oincoll€ctor
