A Blue Yoshi,(Also known as a Flying Yoshi)has the power to fly by eating shells. Blue Yoshis can also be hatched from an Yoshi egg if you go near them.
Super Mario World
Blue Yoshis can be obtained in two different places in Super Mario World. One place you can get Blue Yoshis is in the Star world. The second way to get a Blue Yoshi is at the Cheese Bridge Area. Near the middle of the stage, there is a ? Block that contains Yoshi's Wings. Mario should have Yoshi with him when he does this. Yoshi should jump onto his wings. Then, Mario and Yoshi should be in a bonus area. Yoshi should be blue and with wings. Now, Mario and Yoshi would have to fly and avoid ememys along the way. If Yoshi hits an ememy, he will fall and the game will end. Now, Mario will lose Yoshi, but he will go to next level. If Mario makes it to the arrow pointing down, Mario will get to keep his Blue Yoshi, and he will get to proceed to the next level.
