Let it put this on hold out for now until, Nintendo themselves confirm this.

First Mario Game to use Nintendo Network - MTO or MK7

Take a look at this link. Here it says, "As those of you who have enjoyed playing Mario Kart 7 that we launched late last year should know, its online competition mode includes the system called “Communities.” Each player can create his or her own online “Community” and decide the rules and conditions of the races to be conducted there, and anyone who enters the designated “Community number,” can join to enjoy the matches there. With that system, the company is offering a new kind of network service, which is different from the network services Nintendo has been offering under the name of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

For “Mario Kart 7,” we have already started using as the name of this new network service… …“Nintendo Network” Service" So should Mario Kart 7 be the first Mario game to use Nintendo Network? Please reply. Akfamilyhome 03:42, 23 February 2012 (EST)

Yes, Mario Kart 7 uses the Nintendo Network. Here is proof! I almost wanted to say it was very obvious, but it isn't. For some reason, in the American version of Mario Kart 7, when you try to connect the game to the internet it will say: Connecting to the Internet. However in the European version of Mario Kart 7, the game will say: Connecting to Nintendo Network. This confirms Mario Kart 7 does use the Nintendo Network. It is also the first Nintendo game to use the Nintendo Network, if I am not making a mistake. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

Thanks, I've updated the Trivia section on the Mario Kart 7 page. Akfamilyhome 21:56, 24 February 2012 (EST)

Confused...............

I'm confused....... How will MTO use the Nintendo Network service? Will u be able to download new courts or Characters maybe? Please Reply ASAT0---User:Link007

We probably don't know yet. There's not enough info as of today. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C)

Already released

The sources say the game should be released on May, but now it's April, so we should mark it as recently released. Shall we? --File:SFCLogo.gif Super Famicom™ 64 13:56, 3 April 2012 (EDT)

More details

In this japanese source reveals more info related to the game, including the amount of the character roster, which confirms that Luma and Baby Peach will appearing the game.

This site is like a rumor and not confirmed. No trailers and images. Baby Peach without Baby Mario aren't happen. Manasword (Talk)

Well snice this is japanese product site (which offer side info) that's been confirmed.

This japanese site is looks like inserted false information. and offically not announced. Manasword (Talk)

I'd wait until a more reliable source pops up, because I'm not sold that Baby Peach can be in without Baby Mario. RedYoshiMK7Signature.png M&SG (talk) 23:43, 20 April 2012 (EDT)

Luma and Baby Peach are confirmed. http://gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=175934 User:Elise/sig

File:BabypeachMTO.png pretty much sold the deal there. Of course, a screenshot of the Lumas is still lacking. RedYoshiMK7Signature.png M&SG (talk) 07:56, 21 April 2012 (EDT)

File:Mtoluma.png Here, I've uploaded a picture of Luma, taken from Mario Party Legacy. MarioComix 03:08, 22 April 2012 (EDT)

This is really cool, but does that mean we can expect other infant characters?(baby mario, luigi, daisy, etc.) Or even Rosalina? –RosalinaSilverCrown

It is very likely that at the very least Baby Mario will be in, but that is just speculation. We will have to wait until the other two characters (or one, if they count Mii as one of the 16) are confirmed --firebrick purplebluegoldbluegreen PKB FSB.png firebrick

It seems that Dry Bowser has been confirmed to be one of the sixteen characters. (where are they getting all of these characters? Could this actually be the official roster?) ~RosalinaSilverCrown

I have a news. Sorry for Rosalina fans. The last character is Baby Mario, source seems to be Famitsu. But there is no screenshot provided (plus Famitsu have inserted incorrect information recently), so we still need to wait for official announcement. --NM4000T4 20:26, 26 April 2012 (EDT)

hmm, not surprised. May I have a link or something? --firebrick purplebluegoldbluegreen PKB FSB.png firebrick

The link is the same one for the Galaxy Dome, i believe its called Mario Fan Site, but its in Japanese. Its on their main page, my quesion is if we add Baby Mario to characters considering we've use the site already, showing that we trust it. Ill hold off though

[3][4][5] Here are more details, it seems that Famitsu put each unlockable character's artwork and performance, but the problem is that no screenshot. --NM4000T4 19:12, 27 April 2012 (EDT)

Huh? All I see on one of these links is Baby Mario's name. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C)
If you can read Japanese you will understand that they are talking about the contents in the Famitsu. --NM4000T4 19:38, 27 April 2012 (EDT)

Well you said it yourself, this website has inserted false info. before. Plus, I doubt there will only be 16 characters in the game. Since when does Nintendo give out every playable character before release? P.S. thanks for sparing my feelings about no Rosalina :'( ,but I still have my hopes. After all, every character needs a partner, and who better than Rosalina for a Luma? ~♪RosalinaSilverCrown♪

There will be 16, on the site there are only 16 icons. --firebrick purplebluegoldbluegreen PKB FSB.png firebrick

What do you mean there are only 16 icons? I just looked on the official site. There is nothing about the amount of characters anywhere on there.~RosalinaSilverCrown

http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/agaj/character/010.html --firebrick purplebluegoldbluegreen PKB FSB.png firebrick

OK. I see it now. I guess we'll have to wait to find out the last character until the game comes out.~RosalinaSilverCrown

Actually, the video I just watched said 16 characters and more to unlock! I don't know exactly what this means or could mean, but it fills me with a certain hope.P.S.pleeeease somebody come to my talk page! I have a super serious question to ask!~--[[User:RosalinaSilverCrown| 18:11, 1 May 2012 (EDT)RosalinaSilverCrown

16 Characters?

I'm not sure, but already 16 characters are confirmed, but since Baby Peach is playable, then Baby Mario should be too. Why is eveyone so sure there are 16 characters anyways? ~ Qyzxf (talk)

NVM ~ Qyzxf (talk)

The characters we have listed are unlockables, and the ones we don't know yet are probably going to come playable. At least, that is what the video I just waytched said. ~RosalinaSilverCrown

Actually there may be more than 16 characters. If you watch the trailer on the European Mario Tennis Open site, you will notice the trailer says "16 CHARACTERS AND MORE TO UNLOCK!", which means that there will be more than 16 characters. Nintendo confirmed that some characters can be unlocked in the game and some can be unlocked by scanning QR codes. So what I think (and that is only speculation) it that the players starts of with 12 characters and can unlock 4 more in the game, but by scanning QR codes, he/she can unlock even more characters. But this is not confirmed and only what I speculate. What I just want to point out is the fact that 16 may not be the minimum of playable characters in Mario Tennis Open. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

Thank you, for explaining what i have been trying to say this whole time. :·) ~♪RosalinaSilverCrown

Baby Mario?

According to the source that lists him playable, it lists all the confirmed characters of now except for Baby Peach. Isn't that a wee bit fishy? Could it be a typo? BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C)

Not a very reliable source if you ask me....I'd wait until we have a screenshot of him to add him to the list. yoshiyoshiyoshi (talk)

There is no need to wait. Nintendo of Europe confirmed Baby Mario is playable. Source: Nintendo volleys even more features for Mario Tennis Open ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

More characters

Arend told me, that the European trailer said 16 CHARACTERS AVAILABLE AND MORE TO UNLOCK so it might be true there are more characters but that the now confirmed chars are just the starting roster. This is why I think since the MORE part in the sentence is a little confusing. ~ Qyzxf (talk)

I think that what Arend said about the QR Codes and the process of unlocking characters is right though. I would also venture to say that Baby Peach, Baby Mario, Dry Bowser and Luma are all unlockable, and some more characters can be unlocked through QR Codes (as mentioned in the page). I'm expecting that all the usual characters are most likely going to be playable from the start (Ex: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Daisy, Peach, Bowser, Wario, Bowser Jr., Waluigi, Boo, Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong (and Mii)) Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif

I think that the now confirmed characters are the starter ones, since the trailer says "16 characters available..." (I think they are the starters) "...and more to unlock" (I think they are the unlockable ones that either can be won in-game or by scanning QR codes) ~ Qyzxf (talk)
Oh, I just saw that Dry Bowser, Baby Mario, Baby Peach and Luma are unlockables... ~ Qyzxf (talk)

Thank you. That's exactly what I said! :) Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif

But the header under this says something about a Blue Yoshi, which must mean that there are already eightteen characters in the game. Shouldn't we delete the information on the article that says there are sixteen playable characters? ~ Qyzxf (talk)
I think we should leave it in there, but state that of those 16, there are 4 unlockable characters, and there are 8 others unlockable only through QR Codes... Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif

Blue Yoshi

On the japanese website, I looked under the QR codes section and saw a picture of blue Yoshi. Does anyone know japanese and could translate what it says there? Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tails777 Talk to me!Sprite of Daisy's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

It just says that "these" characters are downloadable through QR Codes. (Meaning, obviously, that Blue Yoshi is one of them.) Actually, that is just speculation, because Google Translate won't let me copy and paste the Japanese characters on that part of the page... Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif

What the Japanese site said was: " いろんな色のヨッシーたちもテニスに挑戦。パワーがあったりスピンショットが得意だったり、それぞれ能力が違います。" According to Google Translate, it means: "We also challenge the tennis Yoshi of various colors. Was good and there is a power or spin shot, each ability is different." ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

Wait... So does that mean that all the other QR Code Unlockables are different colored Yoshis? Or was that just the discription for Blue Yoshi? OR: Does it mean Blue Yoshi changes colors, and each color has different power, spin and speed abilities?? Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif

Never mind. But does that mean each Yoshi is either Tricky, Technique, Speed, Defense, Power or All-Around? Or are they all Speed and just have different spin & power stats? (I know this question probably isn't relevant right now, but when someone finds out, please let me know.) Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif

I know the amount of characters

Now we have the now confirmed characters. Together these are eightteen (Also counting Mii). However, this place shows a few incons with question marks in them, which also means there are going to be more characters scannable by QR codes. Adding this up, the total amout of characters must be twenty-four. ~ Qyzxf (talk)

I must also note that there is a third header on the left, which might imply even more characters. ~ Qyzxf (talk)

Or it could be courts. Because the first tab is unlockable characters, but the second has a picture of a Mii in a Yoshi suit (meaning that that tab is for unlockable suits). Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif

I sayed it might be. But should we change the sentence that says there are only sixteen characters or shouldn't we? ~ Qyzxf (talk)
I already answered that in the More Characters section. And I know that you said "might" but I said "could be". In other words, that was MY own speculation. Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif
Actually, I just read on the link to where it says that QR Codes will be used for unlocking characters (Yoshis), and I read that the last tab is where the QR Codes will be displayed. In other words, the QR Codes are only on the website (a pretty easy way of unlocking characters if you ask me...) Should that be added to the article? Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif
I think we should add/delete both, actually. There just are more than sixteen characters and the way of unlocking might be important as well. ~ Qyzxf (talk)
True. I think that adding the 24 total characters (somehow) would be more effiecient. But I think the 16 total characters should be left in because that's referring to in-game unlockables, not just all characters. (I don't know how to put that...) Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif
So do you mean that we should add that the QR Codes will be put on the website? Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif

Light Blue Yoshi

Someone better fix that link to the Light Blue Yoshi, and it can possibly be fake. - ItsameMario 01:36, 12 May 2012 (EDT) Mario using a HammerCalapso Koopa 12.gif - It's a me, Mario! - Mario.gif

First, nothing you just said makes sense. Second, don't make assumptions that the link is false. It could be completely right! For Baby Mario, for instance, we had potentially "false" info. But it turned out to be real, and we added him to the list anyway. If it is in fact false, we can always go back and delete him from the list. Third, the Mario Tennis Open website says that all the QR Code unlockable characters are Multicolored Yoshis. Therefore, Light Blue Yoshi is almost guaranteed to be a playable character. Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif

That picture of that so-called "Light Blue Yoshi" just shows a picture of the Blue Yoshi, I believe. ~ Qyzxf (talk)
No, it was Light Blue. I'm saying that images are more trustworthy. And look! Now we have info about Yellow Yoshi, and it does confirm Light Blue Yoshi to be playable as well (I used Google Translate). Purple.gifGreen Yoshi NinjaYoshi Blue YoshiFile:Red.gif

Rosalina

--RosalinaSilverCrown 16:47, 17 May 2012 (EDT)What's up with Rosalina's head on the black yoshi's photo/screenshot/evidence thingie?

Because arbitrarily post that exclusive QR code on the web is not an appropriate behavior and is rude to the publisher, so Rosalina is using her head to cover it. --NM4000T4 19:14, 17 May 2012 (EDT)
The image is likely be edited. It looks fake to me. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C)
Yes, the only reason for that Rosalina's head is to cover QR code, no other meaning. I hope you will not misunderstand. --NM4000T4 22:31, 17 May 2012 (EDT)
