A Spiny Tromp is a large, "spiny", rock ball that has appeared several times in the Paper Mario series of games.

In the original Paper Mario, a Spiny Tromp is seen in Mt. Lavalava. When Mario lets it loose, it will rock down a slope, run over Kolorado and crate a new path for Mario to follow.

The Spiny Tromp also appear in Super Paper Mario. In it, three different sizes of Spiny Tromps roll down hills/stairs, attempting to roll over anyone in their path. Mario can simply flip into 3-D and walk around them (in this game, they appear have 3 layers of what looks like cardboard).

"This Spiny Tromp loves to roll down hills and over unlucky pedestrians... You can't beat it... You can only avoid it... It rolls down the hill fast, but I know Mario can find a way to avoid it..."
