Ninja (character)
Ninja first appeared in Final Fantasy I for the NES, developed by Squaresoft and published by Nintendo. One of the four Light Warriors, Ninja started out as Thief, but later evolved into the much better equipped and experienced Ninja. In battle, Ninja specialized in throwing objects at opponents and using his large selection of offensive weapons. He knows limited magic, but his main strengths are his agility and luck. In later Final Fantasy games, Ninja is one of the many available character classes.
In Mario Hoops 3-on-3, Ninja returns for the first time in many years, this time to show off his skills on the basketball court in the Mushroom Kingdom's first basketball tournament. Several others have come from the Final Fantasy universe alongside him including Black Mage, White Mage, Moogle, and Cactuar.
Ninja is one of five characters the company has decided to implement into Mario Hoops 3-on-3, the first Nintendo game developed by Square since Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars on the SNES. Ninja should not be confused with the enemy Ninja from that game.
