Hey! I've seen you trying to reupload File:KoopaBunTTYD.PNG. It seems to me that you need to clear the cache after you reupload the image by reloading/refreshing or by hitting F5. The problem persists, let me know! Thanks! Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 16:28, 16 January 2016 (EST)
Thanks, it worked. I'll be careful not to reupload the file so many times next time. Anyways, thanks again! --Green Mario (talk) 22:46, 16 January 2016 (EST)
- You're welcome. Don't worry too much, it's a pretty common rookie mistake here, so don't be too worried. Heh, I like your name, it reminds me of my old name, LeftyGreenMario. Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 23:12, 18 January 2016 (EST)
Image Category Reminder
Hello, Green Mario. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: [[Category:Super Mario World images]]or [[Category:Super Mario World media files]] Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
File:PM1greenyoshi.png was missing Category:Paper Mario Images along with a license tag ({{game-sprite}} in this case). Be sure to select the appropriate license when uploading. There should be a drop-down below the box you type in a description (where {{aboutfile}} is loaded for you). --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 00:22, 7 October 2016 (EDT)
Right, I forgot to do that. I'll make sure to do that next time! --Green Mario (talk) 09:31, 7 October 2016 (EDT)
- And you are forgetting to do these things again. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 01:13, 8 October 2016 (EDT)
..Sorry, people forget things sometimes. --Green Mario (talk) 01:23, 8 October 2016 (EDT)
- I hope that you can turn it into a habit because you are still forgetting (image categorization and licensing, which licensing seems to have been fixed). --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 14:33, 8 October 2016 (EDT)
So, if the image is a Paper Mario image, I have to put it in the Paper Mario images category? --Green Mario (talk)
- Generally, you have to place the image category on the file page to the game the image belongs to (usually one, but could be more, like File:SMA Mario Bros.png having five different categories it can belong to). See Category:Images by game for all the known games. Paper Mario images go in Category:Paper Mario Images. Sometimes, there is no category it can belong to, such as general artwork not specific to any game. It's rare. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 17:04, 8 October 2016 (EDT)
You forgot to do what I asked with File:Rescuevteam.png. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 22:19, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
I don't even know how, you never bothered to tell me. Also, why is this incredibly important? I'm genuinely curious. Green Mario (talk) (EDIT: oh wait i'm dumb nevermind)
The template {{uncategorized}} was a quick idea Porplemontage (talk) and I came up with to help us catch newly uploaded uncategorized files. The idea behind it is to not have it tag the file being uploaded (default it shows up in Special:Upload to better catch files not being categorized). I see you are now inserting the category. Just remove the template. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 23:21, 25 October 2016 (EDT)

Oh, sorry. I didn't know, I'll make sure to be more careful next time, though. --Green Mario (talk) 19:59, 1 November 2016 (EDT)
Elder Princess Shroob Sprite
I definitely do not remember where I found that sprite. Sorry. I used to get a lot of sprites from the Spriter's Resource [1], but I know that particular sprite was not from that website. Now a days, I could probably use Photoshop to rip sprites that I can't find (haven't tried it yet, but it can't be difficult at all). I wouldn't mind assisting you if you need help with something, though my schedule is pretty packed because of school. Fawfulfury65
Well, if possible, I'd like you to rip the sprite of the Shroobified Chain Chomp in this image:
This image has needed to be reuploaded for a while now, so if you could fix it, that would be wonderful! --Green Mario (talk) 21:59, 16 November 2016 (EST)
Ah, I know I didn't get back to you for quite a while, but it's pretty hard to rip from that image. It would help to have a higher quality image. I'm not sure where to get a better image, though. I don't have a DS emulator on my computer. Emulators and I don't get along, haha. Fawfulfury65
Soul Bubble
Hi, thanks for uploading the Soul Bubble attacking Mario image btw a quick question. Could you please upload the Love Bubble and Soul Bubble attacking Luigi thanks. :) (talk) (edits) 20:28, 18 November 2016 (EST)
Sure, no problem! --Green Mario (talk) 20:31, 18 November 2016 (EST)

Well, I'll take your advice. But I'd like to know-- how is this hurting anything? --Green Mario (talk) 20:03, 11 December 2016 (EST)
Image Uploads
A few times, I tagged some of your recent images for deletion because they were a duplicate. You really should look for the sprites first before wasting time on creating a sprite and uploading as a new file to satisfy an article with image(s). I do that. Saves a lot of time. There are three ways to find them:
- Category:Images by game
- The game article (for example, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island)
- Most games have gallery pages (for example, Gallery:Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island)
Hope this helps. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 16:32, 18 January 2017 (EST)
