proof

is there ANY proof that this is real? King Boo in Mario Party 8MKDSFTalk!King Boo in Mario Party 8

Yes, this game was shown on today's Nintendo Direct during the Nintendo 3DS portion. LuigiMaster123's signature icon. LuigiMaster123 19:04, 13 September 2017 (EDT)
The sudden amount of Super Mario Odyssey edits using that as a source should have been a big clue. Check the "recent changes" on the sidebar frequently, or stay there by default. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:06, 13 September 2017 (EDT)

the Great Deflate

I'm looking over the trailer, and I can't see it. Just wondering how the Thwomp design is... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:28, 13 September 2017 (EDT)

It's in the Nintendo Direct footage, after the GOOOAAALL! mini-game. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 19:34, 13 September 2017 (EDT)
Ah. Guess I was still trying to figure out how refname worked to put Pokey and Big Tail Goomba in the proper positions for Bowser's Minions. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:36, 13 September 2017 (EDT)

Official site confirms additional mini-games

In the background that scrolls by, you can see screenshots of mini-games not seen on Direct that also aren't on the Wiki page's current list.

I've spotted Hexagon Heat, Roll Call, Mecha-Marathon, Don't Look, Bombs Away and Storm Chasers. Burb

Are we sure?

I noticed that the description says there will be 10 minigames from each of the 10 Mario Party games before. Are we absolutely sure on this? I don't recall seeing that anywhere, but then I might not be looking in the right place. CrashBash (talk) 13:52, 14 September 2017 (EDT)

I think that's speculation, because I haven't seen a source either. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 14:24, 14 September 2017 (EDT)

I'm pretty sure it was never officially stated, and is just speculation. Speculation with some evidence (There's exactly enough unconfirmed Minigames left to bump each game's total to 10), but speculation nonetheless. - Burb

More information from amiibo website

Of note, looks like Mini-Game Island (from MP1) is back: http://www.nintendo.com/amiibo/games/detail/mario-party-the-top-100-3ds Luigi-San (talk)

Does not list any compatible amiibo. Good job, Nintendo.
Nice find! I wonder how Minigame Island will look. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 11:48, 23 September 2017 (EDT)
If anything, I wonder how it will actually play. There's 100 minigames, with some of them being luck-based like Pier Pressure. I'm curious if its going to play exactly like Minigame Island or like Minigame Coaster... BTW, they list what each amiibo does on the website link provided. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 11:58, 23 September 2017 (EDT)

Character Question

Is it known whether or not Toad and Donkey Kong are playable or supporting characters. The trailer leads me to believe that they are more than likely going to be support, but I was just wondering if we should consider making a list called "supporting characters on the page." User:FireFlower

It isn't known, that's why that category is ambiguous. But considering Toad's history, I say it's more likely he'll be playable. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 16:08, 29 September 2017 (EDT)

i would like to know are the unknown characters seen in mini games yet and will there be more characters like birdo or diddy kong there hasn't been much info yet?Mariobirdofan02

Toad and Donkey Kong have been seen in mini-games, but it is not clear yet whether they are support characters or playable characters. DK was seen in Jump Man, and Toad was seen in Rocky Road, but both seemed to be acting like support characters. As far as there being more characters, if I were to take a wild guess, I think the remaining ones will likely be Toad, Toadette, and DK. Diddy Kong has not been used very much but is still around. Birdo, on the other hand, has not been included in many spin-off games for unknown reasons and is not really seen anymore. With that said, I doubt we will see anything surprising like Birdo or Diddy Kong. User:FireFlower

Possible Minigame reveals

In the newest trailer, the mini-game island setting seems to display elements relating to various minigames, similar to the original Minigame Island of Mario Party. I saw what looked like the table from Kareening Koopas at 1:21 point of the trailer. Here's my question; is that significant proof that Kareening Koopas will appear in the game? If so, does that mean we can use the Mini Game Island's background features to find other unannounced minigames? Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Eight Characters

Has it been confirmed that there will only be eight playable characters in the game? User:FireFlower

There's a source for this statement. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 00:05, 18 October 2017 (EDT)

Bowser's Big Blast

While looking through the minigame portion of the Mario Party: The Top 100 site, I discovered that Bowser's Big Blast from Mario Party 2 is going to return. Here it is: http://marioparty100.nintendo.com/minigames/#/bowsers-big-blast

Thanks for the good find. MarioComix (talk) 23:23, 18 October 2017 (EDT)

Nineteenth?

I can't see why this is the 19th game. Counting console and handheld, it'd be 16th. Including arcade it'd be 21st. Please clarify. --TucayoSig.png The 'Shroom 15:08, 20 October 2017 (EDT)

True. Looks like someone just blindly looked at the Mario Party series page, saw "18 total", and added one. Anyways, I've fixed that page and am about to fix this page to reflect that this is the 21st game. MarioComix (talk) 00:55, 21 October 2017 (EDT)

Minigame Separation

Maybe a bit early to be talking about this, but I'll take my chances. We now know all the mini-games involved in The Top 100 and no doubt further along the line the game will get its own Minigame page, like all the other Mario Party games. But I wonder how we will separate the games. We have two options...

  1. Separate them by the Mario Party game they represent, as they are currently listed.
  2. Separate them by the type of minigame they are (i.e. free-for-all, 1v3, 2v2, etc), as all the other minigame pages are.

The latter would be more consistent with the other pages, but I can see the logic behind the first. CrashBash (talk) 02:37, 10 November 2017 (EST)

I think the latter would be better for consistency's sake. But instead of arranging them all alphabetically, put them in order by what game they appear in. Burb 10:05, 10 November 2017 (EST)

I also think the latter is better, for practical reasons. Instead of looking at the MP2 minigames and having to process what type of minigame each is, it would be easier to look at all the 4P minigames and then read which game they're from. MarioComix (talk) 19:20, 10 November 2017 (EST)

The latter option is also my preferred choice, for consistency, like CrashBash said. But, I would arrange the games so that they appear in the order of type in the 100 Minigames mode (as in, Free-for-All, 1-vs-3, 2-vs-2, etc.). – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 10:58, 14 November 2017 (EST)

So, I assume that we're talking about separating the minigames for its own Minigame page. When that happens, how should the minigames be listed on this page? We can't keep identical information or else the Minigame page would have no reason to exist besides uniformity with other Mario Parties. Any thoughts? MarioComix (talk) 20:12, 14 November 2017 (EST)

Aren't the minigames going to be put with their original counterparts? Or is this something else? Chat Man (talk) 21:47, 14 November 2017 (EST)

Other Mario Party games have a dedicated page for their minigames, such as List of Mario Party 2 minigames. I was under the belief that our discussion on minigame separation would be for a page like that, but for The Top 100. If so, we would have to have either that kind of page and the Minigames section on this page different in some way, or else remove one or the other. (Only have the page and do this page's Minigames section like other Mario Parties, or not have the page at all.) So I was asking for any thoughts on this matter. MarioComix (talk) 22:45, 14 November 2017 (EST)
Well, there's also the fact that mini-games seem to be split into "packs", at least in Multiplayer. I've counted the following from a video...
  • Nintendo 64 Pack - Shy Guy Says, Bumper Balls, Dizzy Dancing, Mecha-Marathon and Shell Shocked
  • GameCube Pack - Booksquirm, Coney Island, Pushy Penguins, Catch You Letter and Balloon Busters
  • Wii and Wii U Pack - At The Chomp Wash, Don't Look, Logger Heads, Peak Precision and Flash Forward
  • Action Pack - Hexagon Heat, Mush Pit, Snowball Summit, The Final Countdown and Bumper Bubbles
  • Skill Pack - Trace Race, Leaf Leap, Aim of the Game, Crank to Rank and Soar to Score
  • Racing Pack - Slot Car Derby, Rockin' Raceway, Mario Speedwagons, Paths of Peril and Speeding Bullets
  • Sports Pack - Chip Shot Challenge, Three Throw, Dinger Derby, Triple Jump and Snow Whirled
  • Brainy Pack - Honeycomb Havoc, Roll Call, The Beat Goes On, Strawberry Shortfuse and Jigsaw Jumble
Those in itself could be worth a mention. CrashBash (talk) 10:19, 17 November 2017 (EST)
There's more packs besides those ones. They are:
  • Lucky Pack - Deck Hands, Pier Pressure, Bowser's Big Blast, Balloon Busters and Hide and Go BOOM!
  • Masher Pack - Triple Jump, Pokey Pummel, Mecha-Marathon, Manic Mallets and Eatsa Pizza
  • Reflex Pack - Shy Guy Says, Cage-in Cookin', Leaf Leap, Logger Heads and Don't Look
  • Chow Down Pack - Honeycomb Havoc, Coney Island, Eatsa Pizza, Cake Factory and Order Up
  • Beach Fun Pack - Shy Guy Says, Bombs Away, Pier Pressure, The Great Deflate and Rocky Road
  • Woodland Pack - Honeycomb Havoc, Roll Call, Logger Heads, Piranha's Pursuit and Looney Lumberjacks
  • Frosty Pack - Later Skater, Snow Whirled, Snowball Summit, Tube It or Lose It and Speed Hockey
  • 1-on-3 Pack - Blame It on the Crane, Squared Away, Tug o' War, Heat Stroke and Pogo-a-Go-Go
  • 2-on-2 Pack - Revers-a-Bomb, Desert Dash, Handcar Havoc, Defuse or Lose and Sphere Factor
  • Goomba Pack - Hotel Goomba, Trap Ease Artist, Three-Door Monty, Dart Attack and Goomba Bowling
  • Koopa Troopa Pack - Three-Door Monty, Jigsaw Jumble, Blame it on the Crane, Speed Hockey and Slot Trot

Those are all the rest! – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 15:26, 17 November 2017 (EST)

Those packs definitely deserve a mention somewhere. Who wants to, uh, organize them? BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 15:52, 17 November 2017 (EST)

Party Mode?

The game has been released, but I don't own it yet. I noticed that there is no information about a Party mode on this page, but I remember that it was supposed to have a "turn-based party mode", according to the official website in September. What happened to that party mode? -YFJ (talk · edits) 10:00, 14 November 2017 (EST)

It's in the Minigame Match mode, where 4 players play on one game board and attempt to get the most Star Balloons, like in Star Rush. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 10:39, 14 November 2017 (EST)
