Template:SSB Infobox Mr. Game & Watch is a 2-D character and the star of the Game & Watch gallery games and the Game & Watch handheld systems. Mr. Game & Watch debuted in 1980, making him one of the first creations of Nintendo.

In the Game & Watch Gallery games, Mr. Game & Watch appears along with many of the Mario cast. The difference is that Mr. Game & Watch is only playable in the classic versions of the games, while the Mario characters are playable in the modern versions.

In Wario Land 4, Princess Shokora runs the item shop in disguise as a stick figure that resembles Mr. Game & Watch. Mr. Game & Watch also appears in WarioWare: Touched! and WarioWare: Smooth Moves, in the classic Game & Watch games.

Super Smash Bros. Series

Mr. Game & Watch also appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee with the rest of the Mario cast. Here, he was the final unlockable, as the player would have to get all the other 24 characters. After beating Classic or Adventure with every other character, you'll be challenged by Mr. Game & Watch, in Flat Zone. Beat him, and he's yours to use. It is currently unknown wether he will return in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

In All-Star mode, the team Mr. Game and Watch are always the final enemies to beat. Here the player must beat to 25 Mr. Game & Watch. They are easy to be KOeds, just like any other team battle in Classic Mode.

His movement in the game was unusual as he moved in G&W Quartams.

He can be a very difficult character to use, but can be treated as the strongest character in the game, if used right. Most of his B attacks are tricky, and neither his opponent, or the player will know what he will do. His strongest attack, Oil Panic, is a very hard move to master, as the player needs to wait for their foe to use an energy projectile attack (like Fox's Blaster or Ness's PK Fire). Mr. Game & Watch will find himself relying on his A attacks and Smash attacks more often than his B attacks. Mr. Game & Watch is also rather small and light, and can be thrown off easier than other players. Overall he is a difficult character to use, but a force to be reckoned with when used correctly, so beware.

Mr. Game & Watch's emblem in the Super Smash Bros. Series is himself holding a Bell. All of his voices, including screams, taunts and other such noises, are electronically done.

Trophy Information from Super Smash Bros. Melee

Classic

First appearing in 1980, the Game & Watch series is the father of all portable liquid crystal games. The main character is simple and monochrome but has a timeless individuality. There are 39 different games in the series and they've sold over 43 million units worldwide. Pictured at left is the particularly popular Fire model.

Adventure

A resident of a totally flat world, Mr. Game & Watch's frame-by-frame movement is distinctive. His image is known far and wide and respected by gamers everywhere. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, he hurls sausages with his Chef technique. The random strength of his Judgment is determined by the number displayed; food appears on lucky 7.

All-Star

A man of great stature in the world of Nintendo characters, Mr. Game & Watch is a comparatively light fellow and doesn't feature many powerful attacks. When he's in danger of falling, Fire calls out a rescue brigade to send him skyward once more. He can also catch missile weapons with Oil Panic; once he's caught three, he can dump the bucket on his foes.

Trivia

  • Before Super Smash Bros. Melee was released, a character called 8-Bit was rumored to be in the game, but it was later revealed that the character was Mr. Game & Watch.
  • Since all of the Mr. Game & Watch's moves in Super Smash Bros. Melee derived from Game & Watch games, some of these moves are used by Mario in his respectives Game & Watch games. (Example: Mr. Game & Watch uses a pack from Mario Bros.). This shows a little similarity from these characters.
