Trace Cadets is a 4-player and duel minigame that appeared in Mario Party DS. Its name is a pun on "space cadet", which is a term used for people with a flighty, inattentive personality.
Gameplay
A large grid of Tetromino-like pieces will appear on four individual grids, and players will draw lines around the perimeter of the shapes. Whoever fills out their square first wins, and if no one fills out their square within five minutes, the minigame ends in a tie.
Ending
If the minigame ends after at least one player fills out their square, the spotlight shines on the winner's/winners' square(s), and the winner(s) show(s) their winning mugshot(s) as the losing player(s) show(s) their losing mugshot(s). If it ends in a tie, all players show their losing mugshots while the top picture dims.
Controls
- – Draw a shape
