Description
"If people come into your room and promptly leave in disgust, consider using one of these."
First appearance Paper Mario: Sticker Star (2012)
“A member of the suction-thing family, this variation waits for prey in an upright position, disguising itself as a part of the canopy. Then it strikes.”
Sticker Museum plaque, Paper Mario: Sticker Star

The Upright Vacuum is a Thing in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. It is the second-strongest suction-based Thing and can be found in the Secret Door of W3-7, Rustle Burrow. The Secret Door outline is found in the room that Mario falls into, however he must navigate around to reach it. It remains in Mario's Album until it is turned into a sticker at a Sling-a-Thing station. Once it has been used as a sticker, it returns to its original position. It can also be purchased from the Shady Toad for 160 coins and sold as a sticker for 20 coins.

As a sticker, it takes up 1.5×1.5 squares in the Album. When it is used in battle, the Upright Vacuum shakes around before leaping up to suck in the enemies. It sucks in every enemy one at a time except for those anchored to the ground such as Piranha Plants. Instead, they remain on the ground and take less damage. After, the Upright Vacuum opens its bag cover and releases the enemies.

The Upright Vacuum can be placed into the Sticker Museum as #9, alongside other suction-based Things.
