Kaboings[1] are enemies introduced in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. They are Klomps except they have two peg legs, which appear to be fashioned from retractable spyglasses, and Kaboings have to bounce to move around. They act as the successors of the jumping Kritters from Donkey Kong Country, though Re-Koils would inherit their behavior in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III.

History

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest

Kaboings are enemies in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. They are first encountered in Gangplank Galley. Kaboings are mainly beige, but some green Kaboings appear in some of the later levels. Kaboings have a set pattern of bouncing around the level. Oftentimes, a Kaboing stands on a platform, waiting for Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong to be in sight before jumping off. Kaboings exist in beige and green color varieties, with the latter type moving slightly faster and jumping slightly higher than their beige counterpart. In the cast roll, Kaboings are classified as part of the "Kremling Kuthroats".

Donkey Kong Land 2

Kaboings are enemies in Donkey Kong Land 2. All of them behave identically to beige Kaboings from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, lacking any color variety. Kaboings appear in some more levels than in the previous game.
