World 5-4 is the fourth and final level of World 5 in Super Mario Bros. Special.

LayoutEdit

The level starts with a hallway leading to a chamber with Lava at the bottom and a long Fire-Bar in the center of 3 platforms. Above the Fire-Bar is the only ? Block in the stage, containing a powerup. After this are two branching hallways on top of one another, with an assortment of Fire-Bars between them; two on the ceiling, three on the dividing platform, and two on the floor. After this are a pair of descending and ascending Elevator lifts above a pit, which have a single Fire-Bar on the ledge to the right of them. Past this are two more Fire-Bars on elevated ground, requiring careful timing from Mario to cross past them. After this are two shallow pools of Lava with Podoboos jumping out of them. Beyond this is a brief stretch of hallway with Brick Blocks and two holes before a bridge with Bowser. At the end of the bridge is an Ax, which breaks the bridge, defeats Bowser, and leads to a Mushroom Retainer, ending the level.

NotesEdit

  • A few of the Fire-Bars, such as the ones to the left and right of the Elevator Lifts, are erroneously off-center and pivot around the edge of their respective Empty Blocks, rather than their middles.
