The Sand Sailer is a ship that appears in Super Mario Galaxy 2. It only appears in Slipsand Galaxy, in the level "Sailing the Sandy Seas". This ship is made of an odd material of brick that dissappears when it is hit by cacti and enemy attacks such as a Magikoopa's beams, however they resurrect after some time. Mario must sail with this ship to avoid falling into the deadly quicksand below. If he can make to the end of the seas, he will be granted a Power Star.

Trivia

• The Sand Sailer heavily resembles the Sand Bird from Super Mario Sunshine as they both resemble bird-like creatures and are made of sand.
• The Sand Sailer slightly resembles Phantamanta from Sirena Beach in Super Mario Sunshine, as the Sand Sailer also seems to look like a manta ray.
