(If this article is -just- going to be about Paper Jam Mario and Paper Jam Mario only, then the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate spirit doesn't count since it uses artwork from other games (and "it's labeled as Paper Mario" doesn't count since that's been done since Melee). This means, by wiki logic, Paper Mario (the specific Paper Jam incarnation of the character) does not reappear as a spirit, but Paper Bowser (the specific Paper Jam incarnation of the character) does, go figure. Paper Mario is a paper version of Mario, based on his appearances in the Paper Mario series, who comes out of a mysterious book in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. Paper Mario makes a cameo alongside Mario and Luigi as part of the "Mario Trio" costume, one of the many unlockable Costume Mario costumes in Super Mario Maker. The costume is unlocked by clearing the Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Event Course.
