"Spinning Slots"[1], originally titled 「スロットBGM/神経衰弱BGM」 (Surotto BGM / Shinkei Suijaku BGM, "Slot BGM / Concentration BGM")[2] in Japanese soundtracks, is a musical theme composed for the Spade Panel and N-Mark Spade Panel minigames in Super Mario Bros. 3 by Koji Kondo. The theme consists of a simple repeating ascending bassline with jazz snare drum percussion.

Super Mario All-Stars[edit]

An enhanced 16-bit arrangement of "Spinning Slots" is used for the Spade Panel minigame in the Super Mario Bros. 3 remake in Super Mario All-Stars.

The arrangement returns for the same purpose in Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World and Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition.

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3[edit]

An arrangement of "Spinning Slots" arranged by Taiju Suzuki similar to one heard in Super Mario All-Stars can be heard in Game Boy Advance remake of Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3. This version is more compressed than the Super Mario All-Stars version and uses different, lower-quality synthetic instruments.

Super Mario 64 DS[edit]

In Super Mario 64 DS, an arrangement of "Spinning Slots" arranged by Kenta Nagata plays during the Wanted!, Connect the Characters, and Mario's Slides minigames.

Wanted! and Mario's Slides return in New Super Mario Bros., along with the theme's arrangement.

Super Mario Odyssey[edit]

Super Mario Odyssey features an arrangement of the theme, titled "Spinning Slots", with an acoustic double bass playing the main melody with snare drum percussion accompaniment. This arrangement plays during the Slots minigame.

Super Mario Maker 2[edit]

In Super Mario Maker 2, an arrangement of "Spinning Slots" plays during the Match & Win! minigame, which is based on the Spade Panel minigame from Super Mario Bros. 3, in green Toad Houses on the World Maker world map. This arrangement sounds very similar to the Super Mario All-Stars version of the theme; however, the guitar used for the melody cuts off each note much more quickly than the Super Mario All-Stars version.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars[edit]

In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, an arrangement of "Spinning Slots" arranged by Yoko Shimomura plays in Grate Guy's Casino.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star[edit]

Paper Mario: Sticker Star features an even jazzier arrangement of "Spinning Slots" that plays in Snifit or Whiffit whenever the Host Snifit introduces each challenge. The main melody is played on bass and trumpet with snare drum percussion and piano accompaniment. The arrangement also includes a modulation and occasional jazz piano runs and fills.

This arrangement returns for the same purpose in Paper Mario: Color Splash in Snifit or Whiffit Seabed Edition. It is titled "Your Answers, Please!" in the Prisma Museum sound gallery.

Mario Party: Island Tour[edit]

In Mario Party: Island Tour, a medley arrangement of "Spinning Slots" and "Toad House" titled "Slowly Bubble Up..." plays during the minigames Tap Dash, Tile Savvy, Spin the Bubble, Cheep Diamonds, and Spin and Bear It.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie[edit]

In The Super Mario Bros. Movie, an arrangement of "Spinning Slots" can be heard in "Welcome to the Mushroom Kingdom" while Mario and Toad make their way through Toad Town on their way to Peach's Castle.
