Super Wario Bros. is one of Wario's introduction microgames in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! and returns as one of Wario's Mash League microgames in WarioWare Gold. Its background design and gameplay all pay homage to Super Mario Bros.
The graphics, music and gameplay are intentionally lower-quality than the original Super Mario Bros. for comic effect; Wario automatically jumps, Wario only has one sprite (in a jumping pose), Goombas do not have stems, the background elements are pixelated, the ground has less shading, and the music is the original Ground BGM music, but slowed down and played with dogs barking as the instrument.
Gameplay[edit]
In this microgame, the player controls Wario, who is constantly jumping. The objective of the microgame is to squish the Goombas that appear on the screen. He will land on the ground four times before the microgame ends. If Wario manages to clear out all of the enemies, a jingle plays, indicating that the microgame has been won. On Speed 2 through 6 in Gold, he gets five landings that can reach Goombas, but not at the lowest speed.
- Level 1: There is one Goomba.
- Level 2: There are two Goombas.
- Level 3: There are three Goombas.
Additionally, as the speed increases, Wario jumps more constantly and the Goombas walk faster.
