The 'Shroom: Issue 200 Community Playlist

Written by: Meta Knight (talk)

About a month ago, I asked all of you from the MarioWiki community through the forums, Discord, etc. to give me a song. I've taken the results, and compiled them into one big playlist! There were no restrictions on what could be submitted. It could be a popular song from a band/musician, a theme from a video game/movie/show, static ASMR noise, whatever. I was asked a few times what the theme was, and there is no theme, but collectively this playlist represents one thing: community!

Each song you'll find below has some sort of meaning to the individual represented. As for what that reason is, it varies. Some might invoke the feelings of nostalgia to make one look back on a simpler time. Others might have selected based on what some of their favorite artists are. Or, maybe someone just wanted to send something funny. Either way, the goal of music in many ways is to make you feel something.

As for the songs themselves, there's a lot of variety here, both in terms of genre and in source material. The list of songs below has been organized in alphabetical order of the user that sent it in. If you want to listen to the full playlist, just click here! You can also click on individual songs to listen to them that way. I've also given some brief descriptions based on my interpretations, research, etc. I'm not the most eloquent or knowledgeable about all genres, so they may not be the most accurate possible, but I did my best.

Either way, if you're reading this and you're someone that submitted a song, then congratulations because I've already given everyone's song a listen, meaning you've gotten at least one person to listen to your recommendations! I managed to get 43 songs from users across all avenues of the extended community, and the playlist reached a run time of roughly 3 hours (2 hours, 56 minutes, and 46 seconds according to my calculations)! Hopefully you don't get bombarded with too many YouTube ads to make it even longer. I think that's enough blabbing for now though, so without further adieu, step back, relax, and enjoy listening to The 'Shroom: Issue 200 Community Playlist, created by you!
