Special Items[1] are a class of items that appear in the SNES game Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its GBA port, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. Unlike standard items, up to 27 are stored for later use and can be selected for immediate use during a level via the pause menu. They can be collected by winning them in Bonus Challenges and Mini Battle Games.
The Special Items and their effects are as follows:
- 10-Point Star - Increases the Countdown Timer by ten.
- 20-Point Star - Increases the Countdown Timer by twenty.
- Anytime Egg - Gives Yoshi a full supply of six eggs.
- Anywhere POW - Turns all enemies on the screen into Stars.
- Winged Cloud Maker - Turns all enemies on the screen into Winged Clouds.
- Magnifying Glass - Reveals which coins are Red Coins.
- Super Green Watermelon - Places a green watermelon in Yoshi's mouth, allowing him to spit seeds.
- Super Red Watermelon - Places a red watermelon in Yoshi's mouth, allowing him to breathe fire.
- Super Blue Watermelon - Places a blue watermelon in Yoshi's mouth, allowing him to freeze enemies.
