A '''Cloud Block''' is a block mainly used as the ground for bonus areas above the ground. They first appeared in ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' in world 2-1, in the bonus area accessed by hitting the secret [[beanstalk]] halfway in the level. The cloud blocks in this game look similar to [[Lakitu's Cloud]]. When they appeared in [[Super Mario Maker]],  it was possible to destroy them with [[Thwomp]]s, [[Bowser]], or [[Skewer]]s.
